You just gotta speak the language and then they are all the same, Unlocked, cracked and activated...

Raymanuva,
For sure there is much more to you that she fell for except the language. :)
The problem must be other than just communication. Most probably the influence of family & society. Even some guys would never marry a foreigner because their mummy doesn't approve, let alone girls.

Disagree, I think you'll find that in most societies unless you are involved with people through work or through friends its difficult meeting someone. In the UK if you want to meet an English Girl then you make the effort to speak English. Bearing in mind most foreigners here don't make the effort why should the girls? Also take into consideration the nuisance that younger male foreigners can make of themselves (did u guess i was referring to the Brits) why would the girls want to get involved?

I think 'King Billy' also had a frightful one, trouble was he was more inclined to find something BROWN to eat, (according to popular belief that is).

Years ago I took a GC student of mine to a greekcyp wedding. I asked him to bring his girlfriend with him - she was black and a very attractive girl as well. She also was my student. He was terified. He said he could not possibly do that, because of what people might think. I did convince him however and he did turn up. They stuck out like a sore thumb. I felt so embarassed. I gathered my friends and we sat at his table throughout.
Later he told me he could never take his girlfriend to Cyprus. He was such a good lad. Just a sad memory.
Regards

We're not talking about Brits here, I mean I wasn't talking about them, I said it like a general fact for all foreigners.
As much as I'm concerned, I'm not from England :D
So some of you say it's the language, but wait a minute, don't you all cypriots know english too?

LE I don't see the colour of the skin as an impediment.

Where are you from IcyNoAngel?

Maybe it all comes down to ideology

And, are the rest trying to imply that so long as a foreigner speak Greek to a understandable exent, that local girls will not have a bias or a favour over foreign Vs. local?

I speak Greek but I am more comfortable in English... what should I speak then???

You should speak in Romanian :D that's where I'm from. I really don't think it matters that much where we are from, but sometimes in some countries, Romanians aren't seen as romanians anymore, but as gypsys, which is NOT true - gypsys mainly came to Romania from India and Turky as far as I know. (I felt I had to say this because I don't like this gypsy rase in Romania either).

Let me get back on track: what ideology are you talking about: theirs or mine?

ICY you have done exactly what my wife does, youve picked the points that suit your argument and forget the work or friends bit. If the local girls get to know you as a person and not as a potential leech you will have a lot more success. COMPRENDE
