For the whole month that's why they call it "13th month"...

In other words you get 13 monthly salaries p/annum. Comes in handy early in January in time for the sales!

in some cases theres a 14th aswell. its half a months worth of pay right before easter break.. you know, to fill your shelves with food for easter hehe

this is how the 13th salary works.

if you have a fix monthly income (say £500.00),

So every month you will get £500.00, now most months have 4 weeks in them, but what about the one's that have 5 weeks, which is usually 4 of them during the year. but you don't get anymore money for that month which has 5 weeks in do you???

So this is were the 13 salary comes in, (its not a bonus)
(its not holiday pay) (and your boss has not been generous)

you have worked for this money through the year, and your boss has kept this money in his bank account making interest on it till its time to give it out.
