Canadian family of four looking for a short term rental in Nicosia, 3-4 bedrooms, for January-February 2008. Husband is professor on sabbatical, wife travels on business in the region. Children aged 1 and 4. Flexible on dates, fees.

The rental market in Cyprus is extremely fast moving. I asked for properties 6 weeks before our move and very few agents bothered as they work 1 - 2 weeks ahead, even though I was prepared to pay in advance for the right house.

I believe you may be better to leave it until the end of 2007 before you ask about rentals.

We came over for a week to choose a house 6 weeks before the big move, others find a holiday villa for a couple of weeks when they move giving their shipped items time to get to Cyprus and find a house there and then. There are many available.

You will find that not a lot of landlords will let their properties for 2 months, considering that you will need to give a month's notice, it's the land lords thast lose out on money. If youw ere to live in one place for 6 months, then you will be more likely to find a place.

As for letting, you will not be able to book a place, like you would on holiday, if you were to find a place and put a deposit down a month before then all the better. But a few months before, you will find you will have to payt he rent for the months you have reserved.

Try buysell cyprus or Land tourists.
