If it does open it will be interesting to see how competitive it's pricing is compared to the UK, I suspect that it will not be anything like the UK rergarding prices.

I'm certain the prices are fixed by headoffice of IKEA. They won't be able to increase them.

IKEA works with an economy of scale philosophy. Order a lot get lower prices. However since Cyprus is a small market equal to about a suburb of London then this kind of trading philosophy cannot work.

The trick is that all the big chains that only now start to appear in Cyprus are direct subsidiaries of the Greek IKEA, Carefour, Ilektroniki Athinwn, Jumbo etc. The goods that are for Cyprus are actually ordered by the suppliers together with those that are for Greece. Then they are shipped from Greece to Cyprus. In this way these chains can achieve extremely good prices that are comparable to European prices and now with Euro they will go even further down because there will be no need to change currencies when trading with other EU members.

This is how IKEA will achieve its famous low prices and I am pretty sure they will do like Carefour has done and in less than a year has rendered all the other Supermarkets in Limassol empty...

So will I, in our town there was just Somerfields, as an example the price of Ryvita was 10p per packet more than their city store 6 miles away; as soon as Sainsburys opened in our town all Somerfields prices dropped.
