We all agree that majority of GCs at the time were against ENOSIS, and that is why EOKA-B started off with attacking Makarios and his supporters before moving on to TCs.

They moved onto Turkish Cypriots after the Turkish military invasion began and the Turkish army and Turkish Cypriot paramilitaries attacked the Greek Cypriots. Two wrongs dont make a right but dont try and manipulate history because it was the Turks who attacked the Greeks first in that period of time.

be honest..... read more history books about Enosis and EOKA. it did not started after the invasion.

the article u read about sport and eoka it is hundered percent correct.try to face with your own history.....

read it again and again....... try to read some independant history books....
For the past 40 years, there had been two separate football federations in Cyprus, one for the Greek-Cypriots and another for the Turkish-Cypriots, borne out of the fact that Greek-Cypriots had segregated themselves from the Turkish-Cypriots and had imposed embargoes.
On April 3, 1955, only a couple of days after the Greek-Cypriot terrorist organisation EOKA started its bloody campaign to achieve the unification of Cyprus with Greece (ENOSIS).
The Turkish-Cypriot football team Çetinkaya was barred, without prior warning or explanation, from playing in a match with the Greek-Cypriot team Pezoporikos at Nicosia stadium.

All these are happened at past...... doesn't mean it will go forever.i don't ignore whats happened to greek cypriots .

Ive read much upon the issue - its you who reads about this subject in Turkish tabloids!!

he article u read about sport and eoka it is hundered percent correct.try to face with your own history.....

hahahaha wtf! Someone already pointed out that the Turkish Cypriot football teams left the Cypriot federation but you conveniently avoided this post. you expect us to believe ANYTHING you post is 100% true - let alone the garbage that heads this particular thread!

read it again and again....... try to read some independant history books....

Why dont YOU! Its clearly evident that you are a propaganda spreader. IVe read much indepenent books/articles etc. Any sane person can see that you clearly have NOT.

Can you be a bit more elaborate and give us the reasons why the two segregated themselves and what these so-called embargoes were???

On April 3, 1955, only a couple of days after the Greek-Cypriot terrorist organisation EOKA started its bloody campaign to achieve the unification of Cyprus with Greece (ENOSIS).

More Turkish propaganda.

The Turkish-Cypriot football team Çetinkaya was barred, without prior warning or explanation, from playing in a match with the Greek-Cypriot team Pezoporikos at Nicosia stadium.

For what reason? You telling me there was REALLY no explanation? This probably did happen and I dont know much about it but its clear you dont either from the vague crap you have written.

All these are happened at past...... doesn't mean it will go forever.i don't ignore whats happened to greek cypriots .

No but you certainly lie in order to promote the occupied areas dont you.

MATCH BETWEEN BRITISH LUTON TOWN AND CETINKAYA WAS CANCELLED.
Luton Town Football Team of the English League 2 which was scheduled to play a friendly match with Cetinkaya, have arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus this morning.

However, the match was cancelled due to the difficulties raised by the Greek Cypriot Side.
The Greek Cypriot Side has again prevented a social event which would take place in the TRNC by threatening that the British team would be given major punishments if they play the match with a TRNC team.

The British team then decided not to play the match after the British Football Federation contacted with officials from the Lutton Town and asked for the cancellation of the match.

The match has an importance in overcoming the sports embargo against the Turkish Cypriots.

English Luton Town is the first English football club which would play a match in the TRNC.

Cetinkaya is the one of the founder of the Cyprus football association !!!!!!

It'll never happen Halil, unless your teams re-join the CFA as they have been invited to 100's of times there is no chance anyone will risk their fifa standing to play a game with (no offence) a bunch of amateurs.

This match may well be happening as we speak - Bayrak and GencTV had interviews with several people today and the match is about to kick-off in Lefkosa at 21:00 local time.

Çetinkaya Türk S.K.is a Turkish Cypriot sports club based in Lefkoşa(Nicosia).

Çetinkaya was founded in 1930, and was one of the founding members of the Cypriot First Division in 1934, the sole Turkish Cypriot team in the league (with 7 Greek Cypriot teams: AEL Limassol, Trast AC, Olympiakos Nicosia, Aris Limassol, APOEL Nicosia, Anorthosis Famagusta, and EPA Larnaca). The club merged with Çetinkaya Türk Asnaf Ocağı (founded in 1943) on 1949, changing its name to Çetinkaya Türk Spor Birliği.
The club went on to become the first team to keep the Cyprus FA Shield permanently after winning it thrice on 1951, 1952, and 1954. After the formation of Cyprus Turkish Football Federation on 1955, the club became a founding member of the Birinci Lig. Çetinkaya Türk remains the only club to have won both Cypriot leagues, main Cup competition and Super Cup to date.
