EOKA were fighting for union with Greece.
They were not fighting for independence, which is what the GC politicians tell us every year and (I am told) is in GC school text books.

And how did they plan to attain this union with Greece from what you understand given that Cyprus was an official colony of Britain and some 30,000 British troops were stationed here? Were they planning to ASK the British to leave?

Are you saying that EOKA s aim was NOT enosis with Greece.

I have always understood that this was the desired aim of both EOKA and EOKA B

Any one i have spoke to, and all the history I have read seems to support this
