And how did they plan to attain this union with Greece from what you understand given that Cyprus was an official colony of Britain and some 30,000 British troops were stationed here? Were they planning to ASK the British to leave? :?

GR First of all dont shout at me as I'm a little delicate this morning!

Are you saying that EOKA s aim was NOT enosis with Greece.

I have always understood that this was the desired aim of both EOKA and EOKA B

Any one i have spoke to, and all the history I have read seems to support this

EOKA was 80% of a colony seeking to unite with their motherland.
EOKA B was 100% of the arseholes on the ex-colony seeking to destroy an independant state.
