rulla, I was obliged to leave Cyprus rather hurriedly and was picked up and transported to Europe in the early hours, I inadvertently left my keys in the ignition of my car, since it was my intention to drive to the airport.

On my return (nine days later) I found everything intact, my neighbour had noticed my absence, informed me that he had watered the plants in my garden and hosed down the patio and surrounding areas regularly, he was unaware that the keys to my house were in the ignition and was unnecessarily apologetic for not having noticed.

I think your husband would be well advised to shelve the idea of 'burglar alarms', I don't think we need them here, unless it is his intention to start a 'mini crime wave' in order to justify his intended business pursuits.

I know of a 'Glazing Contractor' in the U.K. who's boast was that he would go out at night 'Catapulting' in order to ensure custom when things were a bit quiet.

Perish the thought.......................................

I find your accusations quite offensive. :!:
Crime does happen in Cyprus and we all know that its nothing like the crime in the UK... so thanks for that little bit of info

As it happens my hubby is an electrician and the house alarm business was only an idea for future years. So no it will not be shelved, it will simply be on the back burner until needed. :)

Donnauk7, so you DO think (or hope) that the crime rate will increase due to the influx of the British ?, well there is a nice testimony to what you are expecting your countrymen to contribute to this society.

Never mind the 'Back Burner', get your husband to put your ideas in the oven with plenty of security bolts.

eliko .oh wise one .the lady can see for herself you are a bit slow and condesending.it is a good idea to fit alarms etc .and has i have sold about 70 of the wireless alarms with auto dialers since jan .and thats just helping people out .and word of mouth .there is a little bit of thieving going on .and its just for piece of mind .and has more and more illigal workers are being shipped out .they are takeing the risk of stealing from the places they have worked at .that they now is vunarable not so much a risk .so yes crime does happen here .but not has we now it in uk .its a great place to live . 8) 8) 8) 8)
