How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Obviously SN doesn't, he has just said he would leave Cyprus to the mercy of Turkey. Could call GR

SO if Turkey decided to keep her dirty paws on Cyprus would you still want Greece to remove itself from the whole issue anyway?

Personally i might say yes. That is why first the GC and TC must agree on this outdated thing of guarantator powers.

.

Ok. Now we're getting somewhere. Now you have an objective to accomplish. I didn't understand what you're doing on a Cyprus forum before, considering you do not believe that you have anything in common with GC's.

Lets argue about how it makes Greece a better country if it withdraws its support for Cyprus and Turkey keeps hers for the TC's.

That might be a good idea actually... In the event of a war we wouldn't want the Greeks getting in our way; I can't even figure out what they're bloody talking about when they open their mouths! :?

Of course Greece makes a difference GR.

However, now RoC is a member of the EU, I concede that Greece is less important to Cyprus now.

Really? You obviously need to expand your Greek slightly then. Never spoke to a Greek from Rhodes?

Mocking is fine, reality will be very different. If anything kicked off, I'm sure you'd be the first crying for Greece's F-16 jets to give the National Guard some much needed air support.

Look DT my presence on a Cyprus Forum states the obvious. That i do care about Cyprus.

But why do i care?Did you get it?

As i said in the past i am directly interested in what ever is linked today to Greece.Greece's main problems today are the Macedonian name issue and off course the Cyprus issue, along with the Aegean issue legal settlements with Turkey.

From a personal point of view by empasizing on how Greek or Turkish a GC or a TC is,i believe is wrong. It only deepens the divisions in your Island.

Turkey is mooving forward and i do believe that Turkey is not left many options other than join us in the future in the EU.
I dont want a Turkey with merely a ''privileged'' status with the EU.I want Turkey inside the EU.

The constant interference in Cyprus by Greece and Turkey deepens the divisions amongst your selfs primaraly.

The best debate i had about Cyprus was with a leftish young GC co-student of mine in the UK.I was given the opportunity face to face to realize that Cyprus cant afford any more divisions or polarization.

All of you have the power to come around a table to discuss about Cyprus without Greece's or Turkey's influence.

While no-one is denying you your links with what you perceive to be your motherlands(Greece,Turkey) the wisest thing to do is to abandon any ethnic identifier while you talk amongst your selves.

Hopefully the next plan will be voted by both communities in Cyprus and finally we will see a united Cyprus.
I want a united Cyprus primaraly for the normalization of Greece's and Turkey's relations.

It's the Greeks that need to expand to Kypreika and then they'll be able to understand all the wonderful things I have to say to them. :)

It's not that they don't have the hardware Simon. It's their intentions I do not trust and if history is anything to go by we are better off without them. There is not a doubt in my mind.

I thought you said you could not understand them? Therefore, it is you who must expand :)

Get rid of Greece and see what Cyprus will be left with. This type of naive thinking never ceases to amaze me.

That is a good point. While some people from Rhodes,Kastelorizo,Kasos and Karpathos have a similar accent to the one the GC have, most of the Elladites find difficult to understand 100% the GC dialect.

While both us and you use the codified Greek language when you write, speaking is a another issue all together.

Most of the times we are in the mercy of the GC who they can perfectly understand us but we cant get exactly the GC dialect.

Your Ntopiolalia is so different to what the Elladites speak today in Greece that i believe it is almost a matter of good manners issue for a GC to abandon just for a while his ntopiolalia while he is speaking to an Elladiti, since it is easy for the GC to turn to the codified Greek language any time they want.
Specially people from Pafos i cant understand anything they say when they talk fast...

Apart from a couple thousand "symbolic" ELDYK soldiers there's pretty much nothing left of Greece in Cyprus Simon. It's all over in case you haven't noticed.

As I said many times in the past, Greece will be lucky to look after her own rocks in the Aegean let alone come to the aid of Cyprus.
