How long did it take you to think of that one!
Keep thinking you might figure it out someday..

Can you explain it to me then!
You say that the £10 fee includes the delivery for anything via DHL, so I would read it that I could order items of any value and you would get it to me in Cyprus for £10, though I though DHL charged according to the weight of the item being sent :!:
If this is wrong could you please explain further. :?

I have a client who buys laptops from Dell. Dell online does not accept international orders, credit cards from outside USA, or ship international.
We have an account with DHL and a shipping address in USA.
He shops for the laptops, specs, and prices. We get the order and we purchase them then Dell ship them directly to our address in USA. DHL in turn ships the order international. DHL takes care of documentation and if needed repacking for international shipements. This is where the 10 pounds go.
How do we make our money!!
As mentioned above we have an account with DHL. We get a volume discount on shipping. Such discount is reflected in free shipments, incentives, and cash back. The more we ship then more we get back in turn.
Furthermore, we get discounts from certain online vendors. The more we buy the more we get discounts.

Thank you

Hello Hazza,

What is the maximum size and weight allowed to be sent?

To be covered by the DHL Service Guarantee a shipment must:
Not exceed maximum overall dimensions of 56" x 36" x 25". (inch = 2.54 cm)
Have no single dimension greater than 56".
Not exceed 150 lbs. in either actual or dimensional weight.
Packages can be broken into several parcels to meet the requirement above.

What is the maximum value allowed to be sent?
No limit but there is a limit regarding DHL liability
$US 100; or
For certain international Shipments in which the Warsaw Convention
applies, approximately $US 20.00/kg. or $US 9.07/lb., depending on the
applicable law; or
$US 10.00/kg. or $US 4.54/lb. for Shipments transported by road (not
applicable to the US).

What restrictions do we have?

Here is a list of items that either cannot be shipped or may cause problems during the customs review of your shipment:

- combustible/flammable items (paints, oils, lighters)
- any type of pressurized can (hair spray, shaving cream, spray cans of any type)
- hazardous materials (matches, chemicals, explosives)
- weapons (guns, stun guns)
- seeds
- coffee
- foods
- animals and products made with animal skin (furs)

Thank you

orokliniservices wrote:does that 10 quid fee include the delivery for anything via DHL? if so that's reasonable, but 10 just to have a middleman do the transaction for you is a bit crazy. As long as you've got a bank account you can use paypal, you have to have a credit card to have a verified address, but most sellers will sell to a non verified.

Yes it is part of DHL delivery charge (documentation and DHL approved packaging).

right above !!! this is where you said part of dhl delivery charge mate!

There is a huge difference between "£10 fee includes the delivery for anything via DHL" and "it is part of DHL delivery charge (documentation and DHL approved packaging)". Don't you think so!
