this was the big international story of the day on my start page this morning. OK friends, where is he, what did you do to him, and can you please give him back? at least help find him????

Neither the police nor the embassy specified his role at the embassy, but a Lt. Col. Thomas Mooney is the embassy's military attache. I was approached yesterday by a chap carrying a picture of both Tom Mooney and his car.

I must say they do not seem to give a man much freedom of movement, he seems to have gone missing for such a short time before the whistle blew.

He may well be in the company of some delightful young thing (Or rat-arsed), give him a chance to sober up before such a hue and cry.

Hope he is found safe and well.............. :wink:

As a follow up to the above, the approach was made at the 'Bogaz' hotel and my understanding was that his photo was being circulated generally in that area.

His car was also pictured and, on hindsight, the young chap did seem rather concerned.

Our party did offer him the explanation I indicated above, I am sure he will be O.K.......... :wink:

i hope he is. i love you cypriots. i would hate to see friction between the USA and CY. you all dislike us enough as is.... i don't want us disliking you.
