They should translate the LlanfairPG station sign into English!!!!

Hah! Yeah, that would be a good one. Appparently it was the longest name in the world until somewhere in Mexico (I think) beat it. Literally is a square sign full of letters. That just takes the mick....

Before leaving Wales I read somewhere that someone wanted to reduce the name to Llanfairpwll or Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. Didn't happen though. I never learnt the name myself, but my dad knew it. For those that are interested it is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. What is funny is the place is tiny (lived near it for about 15 years). All I can remember is a Volvo (maybe something different) garage I believe...

Hmmm, more interesting stuff is that it is the longest site name on the web, plus the name was in the film Barbarella. Also I found a Russian rock group called LlanfairPG a while back, named after the lead singer had walked through it on holiday once. Unfortuantly they thought it was south wales until I corrected them...

its true that the welsh do not like the English, so any opportunity to have a dig they will.

I am welsh too, I came from south wales born and bread just out side Swansea, even though I don't like the English much, there is no need to be rude to them or anyone for that matter.

i think its funny how welsh and scotts continue to hate the english - they dont complain when moving to england or moan when they get paid in sterling. all this dates back years ago and you lot did just as much to us as we did to you, so why waste time being pathetic.

Yeah, my family all come from south Wales. One lot mainly live in Ynysybwl, and the other lot up and left and now live in Aberaeron (Mid Wales). I found it was mainly the north waleans were the biggest bunch of racist scum going. Serious attitude problem. Why my dad decided to go there as his last RAF posting is beyond me (liked it when he was posted there as a young lad). Personally I think it's the mixture of Welsh and Liverpool people (you get a lot of it on Anglesey). It's not good...
