Much better to get together to talk about things (hey maybe QAMERSLAND was right! )

Facial expressions and mannerisms are great when dealing with a personal problem between two people or a small group at work etc but the Cyprus problem is different as it's a string of many technical problems where facial expressions don't really help.

Of course I can't begin to offer opinions about the 'Cyprus Problem' but I still don't agree! Person to person meeting gives a respect that cannot be gained out of words alone no matter what the subject. Why do Country leaders meet to discuss world issues if it could all be done through a forum?

I think they would've been more effective if they used a dedicated forum because then all the dirty laundry would be out in the open as it should. The Cyprus problem is now too complicated to be solved by an hour of formalities each month or whatever the frequency is.

I was pointing out the fact that the people who have met today will give each other's opinions more respect to as you can now picture each other.

Yeah, I can see Hallil dismissing Piratis' gripe and switching over to the water shortage!

It was just a good time, guys drinking beer and having a discussion - sounds good to me!

And you are tainting many happy threads with your sign.

You want to ignore the fact we are there GR then I will not disappoint you. The picture has been removed but not without protest.

You're getting too agro lately and I don't know what's causing this. I appreciate you removing it but do keep in mind that we can just as easily counter it with something else and all we will achieve is to consume more hard disk space on the server/s for nothing.

Noted and I think we will leave it there on this thread.

I am one of those old fashion people that believe respect is not given but only earned..

Respect to the basic human rights of people is your obligation and every person earns it the moment that is born. So in this we are very different. I respect everybody unless they lose my respect with their actions.

I dont know my neighbours either but i dont have a dispute with them.If i did, that would be a very good reason for getting to know them.

We are discussing the dispute here as well. You know our position very well. What will change by knowing people in person in this respect? Discover that we are not monsters and evils?

How do you know what i support or dont support? With this attitude you are no different than VP which you accuse of being a partitionist..

You made 300+ posts in the forum. Have you not being honest in your views here? If I was the same with VP then I would agree with him. But I never agree with him, while I believe you often do.

And you lost ours years ago and have done nothing to redress that. Infact you have done exactly the opposite. When you can respect other people feelings and rights then you can claim yours. Until then you are just the mouth piece of Greek propaganda and your words are meaningless.

Its a pity you did not respect the basic human rights of my people when you had the chance in the past..or is repect something you reserve for your own kind?

It would help if you understood our position also and this is only possible by contact..

Sometimes with your actions you can achieve the same goal with the person you think you most disagree...Look at Denktas & Papadop three years ago..

I am glad you had fun. However I don't know if this thread should be in the Cyprus problem forum. It could be in the meet new people. I say this because I strongly doubt such meetings can have any effect on the Cyprus problem.

Sure TCs and GCs can meet, they can have fun together, they can do business together, and generally everything that proves that people are just people, and there is no need to classify and divide them based on race, language or religion.

So its great you had fun, but it is sad that you had to avoid specific subjects in order to do so, because if you did not, the disrespect of some people would be reveled, and I don't think that would create a very friendly environment.

People from both sides have been interacting for 4 years now whats changed in relation to the Cyprus stalemate?

What has Piratis or Wievpoint done positive in the last four years to end the Cyprus stalemate?
