Is the fire bad? I hope it doesn't end up like Kyrenia did all those years ago....

I don't think you can see Troodos from Kerynia since Pendaktylos is between them.

The fire is very bad, the worst one for decades they say.

About the topic:

I am glad you had fun. However I don't know if this thread should be in the Cyprus problem forum. It could be in the meet new people. I say this because I strongly doubt such meetings can have any effect on the Cyprus problem.

Sure TCs and GCs can meet, they can have fun together, they can do business together, and generally everything that proves that people are just people, and there is no need to classify and divide them based on race, language or religion.

Unfortunately in the end everybody will put his interests above friendships and anything else. The 18% of TCs occupy the 36% of land. Will they accept to give up what they illegally occupy which is twice as much than what they own? Also each TC is promised 4.5 the voting power of each GC. Will TCs accept to be equal to each of their GC compatriots when Turkey and their allies promise to them that they can gain a lot more power than that on the loss of GCs?

Honestly I don't think any of that will happen. Take halil for example. He was in that meeting, and when he came back he again started talking about the "trnc", the illegal entity which symbolizes the partition of our country achieved by murder and the ethnic cleansing of 100s of thousands of Cypriots (some of whom where sitting on the same table with him just moments earlier). I am sure that from tomorrow he will continue his Bayrak propaganda as usual.

So its great you had fun, but it is sad that you had to avoid specific subjects in order to do so, because if you did not, the disrespect of some people would be reveled, and I don't think that would create a very friendly environment.

Piratis I probably hold the exact same views as you and would be classified by some people as a hardliner (not sure why when right is right)

but you have to stop talking AT people and start talking WITH them. Otherwise what is the point of administering this forum?

But surely Piratis you will agree that the more we get to know each other the more likely we will understand our problem and the more likely we shall find the tools to solve the problem. I believe that the more contact amongst our people the better. VP disagrees , do you share his views.
