Don't misunderstand me, Lena. I may not "belly dance," but I dance what one might call a "modified tsiftetelli" and a mean zeimbekiko (always lady-like though ). You see, while I was being "cultivated," whenever I would venture onto the dance floor at Greek cultural events, my mother would whisper in my ear, "don't bounce, don't shake" (by the time my sister came along, my mother was too tired to bother). If given the slightest impression that I was bouncing or shaking, she'd send my father onto the dance floor, and I'd suddenly find myself dancing with him mpallo style.
Denizaksulu, will you be one of the men joining us??? [/quote]
What did you think about the two styles of audience in the clips above. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the Turkish Girl dancing on Greek television was how dirty they made it look. It looked very crude and more like lap dancing. I did not want to say anything but as you have brought up decency in dancing..Or at least I think you have...The Greek guys were salivating like crazy and showing it ???
