What does it matter who gave the go ahead. The treaty allowed for Turkey to intervene and she did. The talks went on to re-establish the government and the constitution but it took years and just as Makarios and Denktas were about to sign an agreement Makarios died of a so called heart attack. The following leader should have honoured that agreement and signed it but they did not ...why. Does that not ring alarm bells in your head and tell you why Turkey is still there.

Your arguments are uninformed and unjust.

intervention doesnt mean occupation

Turkey has been charged with handing back to the government of Cyprus as a whole. That condition does not exist. Simple as that.

Which treaty poor dumb? The UN Charter which says that no unilateral invasion or intervention by any UN member country is allowed against another UN member state, and only the UN Security Council has such authority to order such intervention?

Is that the same UN that stood and watched while my people were being killed. Give me a brake.
The Zurich agreement is what I am talking about and well you know it. Makarios and Greece tried to use that charter to their advantage in their aim of mass murder...They were stopped so what is your problem. On tthe side of the murderers?

Its funny how I can go through a discussion with a TC and during that discusison i can go through an entire host of mistakes that Greece committed. On the other hand 9/10 i will receive a very shaky argument of how everythingn turkey ever did was within the international law and its rights with peace interventions and RSVP invitiations to vacate homes.

I then hear from other members that its the GC's that are brainwashed as kids... :?
