Halil , I believe that such meetings can bring an enormous amount of benefit to all Cypriots. The more interaction between our people the more understanding of each others concerns. You look so much like so many Cypriots that I know .

Are you and Sotos the same person? Please answer a simple Yes and No because I am not being sarcastic or anything!

By the way, TRNC is where all non-immigrant TCs are currently living, and they have no issues with where they live or specially their choice of a flag. Until a new flag becomes available that can be used by both sides as Cypriots, current one will prevail.

Hence, any insult or abuse addressed in that direction will be same as insulting every TC living in TRNC as well as MOST of those living outside. To be quite honest, with reactions like these I do not believe you are fit to be a moderator in this forum. Instead of trying to tell off the silliness we witness by so called Sotos in forum (that has otherwise settled down to a very civilised level), you are making excuses for them and encouraging more of the same abusive behaviour.

I do strongly wish that the admin of this forum carry out a better selection of their moderators...

You are making that question as if I and Sotos are the only people in Cyprus that are disgusted by your disrespect towards our human rights and the sovereignty of our country.

The so called "trnc" is not a country, but an illegal monstrosity and as I explained in my earlier post those that choose to support the pseudo state are showing the worst kind of disrespect toward the people whose country and properties where forcefully stolen in order for that monstosity to be declared.

By living in the occupied areas of Cyprus, or by being a Turkish Cypriot doesn't automatically make you a supporter of illegality and crimes. Supporting such thing is something you choose, and you are responsible for your choices.

Personally I have not seen much discussions on a civilized level. A civilized level would mean respectful discussions that would seek a solution that would respect the human rights of all Cypriots and the sovereignty of our country. What kind of respect are you showing to us when you tell us that the lands we are the majority and where we have 1000s of years of history are now Turkish simply because the big guns of Turkey can force this illegality on us?

Maybe many Cypriots do not express their feelings about the "trnc" in order to allow communication to continue. However I am afraid this is a mistake, since it apparently gave you the wrong impression that we respect the symbols of your crimes against us.

No, we do not respect those symbols at all, neither we have much respect for those people that support such crimes and illegalities against us.

If any (non partitionist) Cypriot disagrees with me lets hear it from him.

Piratis , there is no need for me to reiterate my position with which I'm certain that you are well acquainted with.
I have never deviated neither have I ever considered the depreciation of my views and those of the International community at large that this part of Cyprus , the "TRNC" is anything other than the version as per the UN , EU and the entire international community.
I'm however unconditionally committed to a peaceful solution through negotiations and a commitment by both sides to the principles of human rights and justice.
I do not feel that the expression of disgust , disapproval offensive behaviour is contributive to the promotion of a just solution. Understanding and respect of each sides concerns and aspirations is conducive and constructive and most certainly a direct insult to , albeit an illegal emblem , to those with whom we are trying to build bridges of peace. We do not have to acknowledge it , respect it , or stand to attention for it. But Sotos inflammatory distortion is unlikely to create any thing other than indignation amongst those that are seeking a peaceful solution.

Bir! It is not very nice you going on like this about VP, when you are clearly ignoring the posts in the same thread by Sotos! Posts that would be highly insulting and offensive to many TCs in this forum (except yourself perhaps?).

No Bir! I must disagree with you on this occasion because many TCs are also likely to tell you "This is the kind of attitude from you which makes me suspect your motives and ur identity.." (as you put it).

BigOz....I ignored Sotos' posts because I condidered them beneath contempt....I would not lower myself to the level of those posts....Though I have nothing against Sotos and I understand his frustration and bitterness...This does not mean I am cold to the plight of the TCs,bigOz...
I do understand the impossible situation they/we are in wedged between Turkey and Tassos' RoC...My whole ambition is to promote peace, goodwill ,understanding, and respect between all Cypriots, and I can do that best if I show empathy and compassion for our GC brothers. Then hope more and more of them will start showing empathy for our plight. That is the only way we will ever solve Cyprob in a just and durable way.... :( :(

Zan and VP...
Please don't think I am ignoring ur posts...If I replied to them I would only be repeating myself....There is a time and place for everything...And I felt VP was out of place trying to spoil the party for those who are making an effort to meet and get to know each other...A marathon,as they say, start with one single step...and if the runners stay on course, despite all the distructions and obstacles, they finish the race at the end....So let us aploud this little step and othes like it and see what they will bring....We all want the same thing....And we will never achieve it by insulting each other...We might have a slim chance if we understand and respect each other... 8) 8)

I say well done guys for taking the first step to meet and sit at the same table, have a beer, laugh and chat. Save that picture because it will go down in history books as the men who braved the unthinkable, but did it for their country. You guys are my Heroes. Well done and thanks again for being gutsy enough to put your picture on the net. May be I'll organise a lunch for the Cypriot/ Australians who wish to get together.

Thanks again
Andreas

Sotos, I can figure out where you got the use of the "trnc" flag from. What I cannot figure out is where you got that piece of shit that you embedded onto it from. Did you have to take a photo of your own shit that you made somewhere outside a toilet bowl, and then transferred it into your PC?

Now, come and get it down if you can!

bigOz, “take a large bite (of food) in your mouth, but do not spell big words out of it!” By default, this flag will eventually come down one day, as it doesn’t symbolise anything more than just an act of aggression, usurping, illegality and illegitimacy! If you will continue to wrongfully see Denkash's partitionist symbol, as a symbol of the TC community -when it isn't; then I only wish you not to be around when it comes down, because it will unduly cause you a great sorrow!
