My friend Halil

When you copy/paste articles, it comes accross as propaganda. In this case specially, that's how I saw it. If you really wish to make a comment please say it from your own heart rather then somebody elses.

In my dreams I ride on a chariot pulled by two white stallions but then when I finally wake up I realize I don't even have a black mule!

Despite all these injustices, it is still impossible to return to the south. I believe that going back means losing our just cause. It is in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus that we have our dignity and honor. We might lose our properties but we still have our honor and dignity.

All of a sudden the few walnut trees and running water at Instinjo go out the window because you have discovered the "dignity and honor" of stealing many hectares of someone else's walnut plantations and dams!

Pack it all in Halil because you're just making a dork of yourself.

Halil , I do read most of your posts until I get to the point where propaganda begins to annoy me. You have posted some constructive posts more so the one about inter marriages , which was pasted from the Alithia newspaper but nevertheless good of you to high light it.
I'm concerned that our people are not influenced by more constructive views and that there is a constant referral to the "TRNC " as if it exists in legal terms .You know your self that this is not so. Exacerbating the division of our island and our people is contrary to what every decent True Cypriot aspires.

In my grandfather's fields there were many wallnut and almond trees, olive trees, fig trees, vineyards, you name it....And as you saw in the pictures they are all gone...This is part of the tragedy that everyone knows about...There is no need to repeat them ad nauseum...My family lost land and property but we were lucky enough to escape with our lives...We must be thankful for that. Others on both sides have not been so lucky...I think we owe it to them to put it all behind us,and emrace the future as brothers/sisters/compatriots,and show the whole world that we are big enough to overcome such terrible and pointless adversity, and through suffering go on to become more compassionate and more complete human beings...At least 3 True Cypriots (2GCs and 1 Armenian Cypriot) have found the compassion and empathy in their hearts to visit my birthplace, and I am sure were sincerely moved by what they saw.
This is the true message we should take away from this thread. That it is possible to show empathy and compassion for each other, which are the necessary ingredients for a just and peaceful solution to our problem. We should be left elated, and not be dragged back into the terrible events of the past. That is why your post was misplaced... :( :(

Humanist, you are spot on. Someone should tell the greedy developers on both sides to respect our beautiful island. Much more stricter controls are needed.

BirKibrisli, again my sentiments exactly. I cannot bear a grudge at the ordinary Cypriot. In my profession I have Always sought them out (Greek speaking and Turkish Speaking students) and talked Cyprus. One GC student who I located on campus (19 years old), newly arrived from Cyprus was in tears as he told me that I was the first TC he had ever spoken to. That is not surprising for then, but now hopefully as more crossing points are opened ( hopefully they will all disappear) things will change and a period of familiarisation between both sides take place anew. Without past prejudices clouding our view. For this to take place we need to revamp our (both sides) education system (schooling and social intraction). Sorting out politicians would be high on my agenda as well.

I have yet got to learn the Quotation system on the forum yet. The same with pictures. I must be thick. Lena ( oh how I miss her) sent me instructions once, but I still cannot publish photos on the forum.
I will try again when I get my laptop back from Dell.
