i went to troodos mountains....

the only trouble was that we fellas ate too much and still were hungry when we woke up at 5-6 am

In 1966/7 there was a British forces leave/holiday centre at Troodos, our job as army musicians was to entertain there for three months each summer 0800 till 0930 rehearsal 1100-1200 concert, what a long day.
We visited the camp in march this year, the camp is still there but it now a high security place so we had to film it from round the corner.
The 1967 stint particularly memorable with the fabulous music from the Summer of Love, we left for home in that September and didn't reurn till 1998 due to raising four kids.

Hi southerner

I spent a few ski seasons based at the TLTC

Do you remember a Tiny church on the way up from troodos Village (On the right near the CLFC Villa ?)

Well it was built by my wives Grandfather and we got married there in 1978 (as well as the registry office Limassol and the Greek Orthadox Church in Lemythou)

I was told it was the highest CoE Church in Europe 1770 mtrs

I think I remember it although it was forty years ago when we visited Troodos on a regular basis, this year we were re finding our way again along with visiting Vouni to see our adopted donkey Hecules at the sanctury.
In Jan 1966 I left a factory in Sheffield and the pop scene, six months later I was up Troodos, some change.
