Well its certainly nothing to do with flight prices especialy from Glasgow,Scotland as i flew my son and daughter out for a weeks hol last week for £98 each retun including meals with firstchoice Airlines, probably more to do with the over inflated Cypriot £ and the British holiday makers are sick losing between 15/20p in every hard earned £ they have earned, its funny how the Cypriot shop keepers etc like you to think that their pound is roughly the same value when your buying goods in the shops etc as back home in the uk,but not so when you come with £2000 holiday money, but when converted say at 81c on average you only have £1620 a loss of £380,thats where the problem lies, just like other countries ie Spain for example have done in the past "killed the goose that layed the golden egg".

Just wait till the Euro buries the Cyprus Pound, then you will see what real price rises are like. The Euro - possibly the biggest con trick ever.

Surely when the Euro happens then Cyprus flights will be compared to other countries and against the same currency. I think the flights will come down because the prices go up tourists will stay away?

Sorry Simon but in my experience the Euro puts everything up apart from wages. All over Europe so far, I can see Cyprus being no different. Should I be proved wrong I will be delighted.

The biggest rip-off we found was on the Thomsons flight home where they were encouraging you to spend any Cypriot money that you had left, they were giving close on to pound for pound, when they take that cash back to cyprus and bank it Thomsons must make £Millions every year.
The cypriots never seem to have a grasp on reality when it comes to money sense; to put the price up because fewer people visit will just mean that even fewer people will visit.
Some of the holiday programmes on Sky TV are asking ludicrous prices for Cyprus holidays, I also made up a holiday where you booked accomadation and flights separately and telephoned the hotel where we often stay to see if they could match the price and they refused and wanted £200 more than the self service price.

Surly the British tourist will be in a better position next year, as the £GBP is stronger against the Euro???

And those countries already in the Euro will not lose out on exchange rates.
