With so many religious people on this forum , surely some one can explain why a suicide attack that took place today in Baghdad , a truck exploding at the side of a mosque where the faithful were praying , killing some 75 and injuring more than 200 , does not make people think that in the name of God horrific events take place . People say this or that religion is peaceful , well from where I'm standing it does not look so peaceful. Let me at this stage bring in the horrific killings of the Muslim Bosnians by the Christians. What I particularly find quite annoying is to be called Godless , an atheist and worst decadent , because I and many millions the world over have seen the light and have rejected the mythology surrounding religion. This latest suicide attack , targeting worshippers at a Mosque !!! is proof that the savage mentality is still rampant in some parts of the world and such barbaric acts are excused by many !!! Just watch how many on this forum will explain why !!!

There is no moral justification of indiscriminate killings perpetrated by people that are driven by a blind and perverted interpretation of a religion that it is otherwise a peaceful religion.

I have always believed that religion contains violence , either physical as we see happening all around us today or mental .

I agree Miltiades...............there is no excuse for such acts,of large scale murder and the pain and suffering the badly injured are going through and the whole familys who have now perished for what?

miltiades I totaly agree in principal with much of what you are saying but I feel that I must correct you on one point, had the Bosnian muslims been murdered in the name of Christianity then the Christian church would have immediately denounced it, Christians all over the world did not rejoice; like me a none practising Christian they condemed it, the genocide was carried out by political war criminals.
When the twin towers were attacked muslims all over the world rejoiced including many in my home town of Sheffield where they were out in the streets singing and dancing.
