Ice hockey, Ice rink, inline roller hockey

Postby inlinehockeyplayer » Mon Jan 12, 2009 11:51 pm

Hi all,

Spoke to the owner of the ice rink at the national state fair place in Nicosia and he says he is going to stay open until the end of March!!! however i was up there tonight (Monday 12th Jan) and the place was closed. i hope its closed for repairs and not for good.

the New shopping mall in Limassol will have a round ice rink located at the bottom of the shopping centre. its still unclear if they intend on using fake ice (synthetic ice) or the real stuff. i have been on contact with the Tiffany investments group and have asked questions about the ice rink and they havent given me any answers in there replys. its due to open in March. withs regards to being able to play ice hockey i doubt it very much as there dosent look as if there is any sort of boarding in place.

anyone know any information about the ice rink on the northern side of Nicosia near the Aturkak staduim? or the ice rink i heard about near Famagusta uni on the old road to Nicosia??. its supposed to be near some bowling place.

thanks

Rollerhockey! Now that's a thought... Yes that too. But the initial concept of ICE hockey is very important. It needs to be established. An Icerink must exist. Roller hockey can follow. Its not that I'm dying to play and any surface will do... I'm dying to get the original, real deal, ice hockey thing going. I want to give Cyprus something they've never had. That's all. Thanks for your comments.
