Now you are being morbid , do us all a favour and go and preach in Palestine , in the Gaza Strip, in the West Bank , they need the blessing of Allah more than we do. And who the hell told you and filled your mind up with this nonsense. "it is my duty to tell u the truth otherwise i will be thrown in hell fire """ Have a break and preach some where else, those of us who reject the creator myth might find your views rather offensive.

All

I've read this post with considerable interest and would like to make my own comments. I lived in Saudi Arabia for 14 years and generally lived comfortably and peacefully

However I was there throughout all of the terrorist attacks that occurred and several friends were killed. I even found a dead body of a British national outside of my office during one of the attacks.

Now the Saudi Government began blaming all the attacks & bombing on a Booze turf war, that was until a group of fundamentalists stormed a compound shouting Allah Al Ahkbar (God is Great) which kind of gave the game away.

Since then the government has attempted to clean up the situation and in my mind are doing a good job.

Now as I said I lived in Saudi for 14 years, and found most Muslims to be very friendly and very peaceful and I have many good muslim friends, but as with any belief there is a small element that takes it to extreme and those are the ones we must focus on.

Personally I've been at the sharp end of an attack by the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Promogulation of Vice, commonly known as the Mut'awa or Religeous Police - my crime was wearing shorts while cycling, which obviously is such a heinous crime I must be punished. The result was 14 hours in a small room being berated for being Christian.

Just wanted to comment as someone having been through shall we say extremist attacks and incidents

Cheers

Blimey.....

Have to say any religion that puts its blessing on sacrifice and suicide is a mixed up one. All life is precious and should be respected.

To be honest QAMERSLAND your posts are really not helping people to feel more comfortable with your religion.

So if you are making people turn against Islam what does that mean will happen to you? I'd hate you to be living in fear, better give up now!

Hi Eliko,
If you dont mind me saying, there is an old Turkish adage, "animals communicate by scent, humans communicate by conversation" (Hayvanlar koklasha koklasha, insanlar ise konusha konusha anlashir). Whilst you can talk there is always hope. We are all trying to understand each other. Lets do it and not be discouraged. Sometimes people have difficulty in putting their views forward, and some at understanding others views. Just be patient and keep talking. When you give up, then the trouble begins.

I don't suppose I can say that wherever you get Muslims you find trouble. But I can think it!

Hi Smiler Brian; Have you ever thought the opposite may be true as well. That a Muslim might say "whereever there is a christ............."

there is no doubt that islam is a peace loving Religion and way of Life but Muslims are not gonna sit back and let others to make fun of our true religion,

Here here, it's the Justificationists that are the main cause, they are translating a religion into something it is not. Islam/Muslim is that of an actual peaceful religion, ignorance and the USA have ended that and caused something else.

Are we forgetting how the catholics have treated the uk (IRA) and let's not forget the Proddies, when they were burning Catholic's alive 100's of years ago.

History is just repeating but in a different order.

Point being that this Qamersland person is saying if someone attacks you (I suppose he means Rushdie) then should you not attack back? What no one has pointed out is that Rushdie is not physically attacking anyone - he is putting over his point of view (be it right or wrong) in a peaceful manner.

I dont know what to think about Islam but I find it extremely worrying and contradictoty when Muslims such as Qamersland are so quick to say they are peaceful but even quicker in wanting to kill someone when they think they have been offended.
