Unfortunately, that ancient culture is not what the culture is in modern Greece right now, and don't deny it! Tell me one modern day Greek philosopher in this century or last century that shaped the European way of thinking. You can't!
Sure, modern greece is not like it used to be. But at least it is a democratic nation that moves ahead. Turkey on the other hand is controlled by the army and continues to violate human rights.
