My dear Deni , you are amongst the most respected members of this forum and I would certainly not wish to be seen as anything other than your friend , we mutually respect each other and as you rightly say , in our democracy we have the most precious gift of them all . Choice !!

Just a few words about paedophiles . It is a scientific fact that these perverts can not be cured . We do not have the death penalty in most western countries and neither do we practice the barbaric act that some nations do , ie cutting off parts of the body or worst still stoning a human to death. Society has nevertheless the obligation to defend the most vulnerable , the children. Perpetrators of such sadistic inhumane acts ought to be eliminated by incarceration so that they will not re offend against our young and innocent children.

What's to say it was padophiles? She could have wandered off herself and fallen in a ditch, hole or water....or heaven forbid, her father could have been involved. It has happened before where after years of searching evidence points to the family. I hope not and I hope she is found safe and well, but don't jump to conclusions until there is more to go on.

Paedophiles aren't normal but I do not agree with torture of any kind! maybe the death sentence in certain cases, but quick.

Helleo Twinkle, I'd like to point out that we do not only talk about Little Madalene. This cruel world is full of abused children and Paedophile. I hope she is alive and with a childless couple, and not with a paedophile. Even better I would have prefered she was with her parents. I hope Little Maddy will be returned safely to her (undeserving) parents.

Why get so uptight about a single case of a missing child? Interpol has currently 325 missing children on their books and it's estimated that there are at least 1000 more which Interpol have no knowledge of. Each one of those kids has parents, presumably equally distraught, so why pick on just one case?

Anyway, your presumption of paedophilia is certainly premature and your remarks about paedophiles are sick (and I mean that literally), reminiscent of medieval witch hunts. Let me remind you that we are supposed to live in a civilised society. I don't suppose you read your Bible much, as St Matthew (ch 5) wrote that Jesus said that the notion of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth was in the past. If you believe in a Christian society, you cannot countenance vengeance. Of course, this does not mean that convicted paedophiles should be allowed to become recidivists: they must be imprisoned for the rest of their days. I believe that they will meet their just punishment for a much longer time from the other prisoners. It won't be torture but neither will it be pleasant for them.

I agree Devil, life imprisonment - no parole. I would also have them work, very very hard to put their perverted energy into something other than paedophilia, have them digging ditches, clearing rubble , etc etc and no tv etc etc I would give them a choice, NO work NO food.
