DT- speaking of democracy and tolerance; could you please name us a newspaper in the GC Adminsistration that criticizes/slanders/castigates your leadership/government as harshly as Afrika does our`s?

No I cannot name you any GC newspaper that can criticise the RoC for the crimes you are committing against the GCs. Neither can I name you any GC newspaper whose offices were bombed or burned. Nor I can name you a GC newspaper called AVRUPA (EUROPE) whose assets were confiscated, that was forced to declare Bankruprcy. Neither can I name you an editor of a GC newspaper called Sener Levent who still has more that 1000 charges against him. Nor can I name you a newspaper that was forced to change its name from AVRUPA (EUROPE) to the ridiculus name of AFRICA (Africa) and have as a motto 3 monkies scratching their heads. Nor can I name you an editor of a GC newspaper who is continually dragged to MARTIAL COURTS (since when civilians are tried in marttial courts?) for insulting Turkishness.

Finally no I cannot name you not even one GC journalist named Kutlu Adali for being killed in a dark corner when he was about to reveal what happened/which Turkish General stole the treasure in Karpasia and shipped it to Turkey on midnight

Oh what a sad feeling , being unable to live in such a democratic place called TRashNcan!

Write some more posts Murataga and I see you earning a free ticket to the the luny world of the self imposed fanatism.

Actually we have Politis which is oppossed to the present govt. However suprise surprise no one got arrested yet.
We've also got the Cyprus Mail which is also oppossed to Tpap however as far as I know their office hasn't been burnt down yet.

Ok, I call the skin! All of it!

Edit: You do leave some skin on the meat, don't you?

Sure there is skin, but Cypriot hospitality says you have to EAT until you burst.
There goes your "budy" at least for a day...

Anyway men have the priviledge of gathering around the fire and eat and drink while is being cooked. :!:

My only problem is what kind of gowns should we buy for Kikapus initiation to prefessor?
I don't like the western black gowns, they make you look like a priest.

The UN will either give credibility to your claims or ridicule them. Whether RoC started liking the UN before or after 1974 is totally irrelevant.

I make no claims. I just point out that RoC interest in UN and the power of its resolutions started after a certain event and not when RoC had upper hand. In the same way Turkish state decide to ignore UN after 11 years of ''peace keeping the UN way''.

Come, come as you are!!!

NB. that "come, come as you are" was a famous medieval-Ottoman poem, that the mainland Greeks got and used to tease girls saying "ela opos eisai/ come as you are". However the meaning of the poem was anything but that, I urge everybody, to search for it and read it, it's really heart touching.

HERE IT IS

Come, Come again !
Whatever you are...
Whether you are infidel,
idolater or fireworshipper.
Whether you have broken your vows
of repentance a hundred times
This is not the gate of despair,
This is the gate of hope.
Come, come again...

Rumi definitely pre-Ottoman, the Seldjukid period (asia minor)

The following from Rumi, originally written in Anatolian Greek and translated into English

Were are you my master?
the dispenser of benevolence
and the moon-faced charmer?
I will say in Sarrazin who I am and who you are.
I came to you, friend
to be sacrificed for love,
and when I saw you
my desires were magnified.
If you give me a glass of wine, I'll be happy.
and if you abuse me, I'll be happy.
My lord, what you desire I desire
and I seek.
When I am drunk, listen to my babbling.
O Lord, help me in my chattering!
Where are you Chelabi*
Where are you?
Where are you, dear?
Where?
I have abandoned pride and principles,
console my heart!

Thank you Karma mou,
and thanks to Deniz as well

Karma it seems there are many versions of this poem, the one which I liked is this:

Come, come, whoever you are.
Wonderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.
It doesn't matter.
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come, even if you have broken your vow
a thousand times
Come, yet again, come, come.
