Seems to be a new thing they have picked up on. I have had the car since my arrival in Cyprus 5 years ago and this was its third MOT when they decided I cvould not have the tints any longer. Wonder when they are going to start enforcing the one about illegal exhaust systems! :( :( :( :?: :eyecrazy:

Please bare in mind that if it is factory tint that is accepted but if it is film then it is unlawful

I was under the idea that,
it only applied to front windscreen and front passenger windows.
windscreens for the reason of vision. and passenger fronts
for identification of people inside the car, for police etc,
?? ...

Hi Guys
This thread has me a little worried, I will driving my Mitsubishi Warrior twin cab over soon and it has tinted film to all windows except the windscreen, the front passenger and drivers sides are less tinted than the rear, its off a level that is legal/acceptable here in the U.K as it was not picked up on its MOT and has been on the vehicle from new (almost 4 years). I'm still not clear on whether this level of tint will be exceptable, it would seem it is dependant on what part of the Island your from. I was planning on keeping the vehicle and registering it after the 6 month grace period, but am reconcidering now.

Rear windows are ok to be tinted, infact many car manufacturers already have those tinted to a reasonable level.
My advise to you, TINTED windows look rubbish on any car, prob you own a cabaret or you are pontian.... same goes for rims, i see so many cars with hidious rims every day, some people just have got no taste at all.

After those 2 teenager died while testing their "Need for speed" cofin on wheels, Police decided to push on the government to oulaw any car performance modification. This includes: Turbos, ECU Chipping, Exhausts, Nitros etc etc...
I dont think suspension mods will be banned, but engine modification will be banned for sure. Few days ago i heard that this legislation is already in place, there is no way these cars will pass MOT from now on, also mechanics whose responsible for modification will be fined and/or even jailed.
