I thought I recognised the Peristerona Duo. The mosque and church together. Allways the symbol of Cypriotness. I know somebody elsu (Devil) beat me to it (replying).Clever disguise, hiding the minaret. Well what can I say

Terrible the things people come up with to stir up things. I wonder what they think they can acheive by circulating these kind of stuff.
That is preety close to your old village deniz, isn't it?

No, Anglisidhes is on the road from Larnaca to Lemessos. 4 miles before Kophinou. Peristerona is almost halfway between Lefkosia and Kakopetria, just where the road turns towards Morphou. Where the A9 becomes B9. You cannot miss the archaic churches and the mosque. I smile and say to myself the church is what saved the mosque. Ironic or not.

I went past Peristerona 2 months ago, they have a byzantine museum there. My eye caught an old stone bath on the side of the street. Would love to have that in my garden:)

They told me it was a bath, as it was too deep for a trough. I will see if I can find the picture somewhere. I have thousands of pics and don't know where to start but if I come accross it I will post it.

Thanks to Anneka for the lovely pictures. The one with the Pottery makers makes me laugh till I cry. It reminds of when my my grandmother had decided to clean the large Pithoi's in our store room. When she wasnt looking I dropped down in to the larger one (I was twelve at the time and tall-ish) After scooping out the bottom I realised I was stuck in. There was no way I could get out as I could not reach the top rim of this Ali Baba's jar of a PITHOI. After screaming for my grandmother for 20 minutes (it felt longer) she came with our neighbor and yanked me out. Little did I know that the Pithoi were pointed at the bottom and were embeded into the soil/cement. Even though I could easily reach the top of the JAR from the outside, there was another three feet below ground level. I never did that mistake again.
