I agree the parents were totally irrisponsible that they left they're kids on their own with the door open ( i didnt hear that the door was open until I read this post...I thought the window was open) but why would the parents be involved???? I dont think they'd miss her birthday just to meet the Pope!!

It's very unlikely that the kidnapper(s) just happened to be passing and went into the apartment on the off chance their might be a child there. It is much more probable that the family had been watched for a while and established a pattern of leaving the children unattended every evening in an unlocked apartment, checking on them occasionally.

There was a a baby sitting service available - surely on two doctors salaries they could have afforded £10 per hour ?.

They've never seemed particularly grief stricken in public. They hold hands, but never look at each other; there doesn't seem to be any warmth between them.

I fear the worst. When children have been kidapped in UK they are usually found fairly quickly (if alive) as neighbours are suspicious of a child suddenly appearing in their midst.

I think there's a lot more to this case.
