At least nine people have been killed by heavy storms that are continuing to lash eastern Australia, officials say. Gale-force winds and rising flood waters have forced the evacuation of thousands of people in New South Wales. More than 130,000 homes remain without electricity around Newcastle and in Sydney.
A severe weather warning remains in place, with winds gusting up to 90km/h (60mph), Australian weather officials said. The death toll rose to nine on Sunday after police found the body of a man who had been swept into a storm water drain near Newcastle.
Among the dead were five members from the same family, including three children...
Ironically, only last week I read about the subsiding levels of rain in Australia and the disappearing lakes. The Australian government was using or intending to use "seeding" of the clouds using aircraft to induce rain.
I wonder if that had anything to do with it - It sounds very much like the TV film not so long ago called ????? (swrngtyzrt! I forgot the frigging name again) when they seeded the clouds to deviate a hurricane heading for Florida and New York - which meant inducing rain and flooding New Orleans as the only alternative...
This could well be men's interference with nature but then again I might be wrong!
