Brits and their Pets

Postby Colmax » Sun Jun 10, 2007 7:27 pm

Why do Brits love their pets so much, we had a Rottie who died when 5 years ago she was 6 years old, I still miss her, It was my wife's dog, followed her everwhere, my wife still cry's over her and swears she see her occasionally. Are we weird?

As a weird person let me reply u; No , u r not weird..love is not bad but you shld stop crying for her while thousands of children are dying of hunger in Africa or coz of imperialistic bombs in the Middle East..try to shed tears for them too sometimes or do something better ..u will be healed

O.K please refer to me as Dalai Colmax Lama or DCL for short.
The dog was pug ugly and had a limp and had a nasty habit of licking its B@ll@<ks, so was glad of your idea to get shot of it.
Many thanks
DCL

colmax, the loss of a family dog, is a loss of a family member.
There is no shame in mourning it and it does not put you under any obligation to suddenly re-structure your thoughts on the suffering of innocents in other parts of the world.
I am sure we are all aware of the injustices of the world, particularly in the well documented areas, we are all sympathetic because we are human.
Allow your wife to weep at the loss of her friend, it demonstrates that she is a feeling person and places her in a category above many who are more concerned with their own welfare than the misfortunes of others.
Good luck on your intended adventure and may you have a happy and prosperous life. :) :) :) :) :)

Colmax, thank you for your compliment, I have seen great suffering and can appreciate that of others, nothing special about that, it just seems to be a bit unusual for some reason these days.

I have a 9 year old boxer that all in the family adore and consider part of our family. He is getting old now as far as Boxers go and I know we would all miss him dreadfully when the time comes. You cant just say look at the suffering in the third world countries and feel unemotional at a loss of a pet.

Hi Miltiades
You will miss him more than you realise, Boxer have such human eyes, especially as they get older and become watery. Make the most of your time together, there love is unconditional.
