Fasteer

I have some Canadian friends living on thr island. I will introduce them to the Forum and ask them to contact you.

Never mind Bryan Adams, how about Shania Twain, sure she is a Canadian and a great singer!

Do not think you will ever be forgiven for sending Hughie Green over to England though. Then in turn for him to father that PAula Yates, may she rest in peace!

Where do you live?
We are researching a new location to live, somewhere warmer than Canada & closer to Eastern Europe (family) & closer to Arab peninsula (work).
So far Cyprus seems the most likely, but not necessarily Pafos (which is apparently chock-full of cynical sun-burned Brits).
What are other towns like? Limassol, Larnaca?

I live in Oroklini, a Village on the outskirts of Larnaca. It is what we like to call "little britain" !! Although saying that, I love it here. I have met some wonderful people who I now consider family and would never change things for the world. It's an ideal location as you're not too close to the city, yet not too far away. The beach is a 5 minute drive down the hill and the village itself has some wonderful Tavernas & Restuarants. There is a small supermarket, 2 bakery, dvd shop (another opening soon) 2 banks, the big sunday market is moving up into the lower end of the village next month. I do like it here very much, we had many options as to where to live but felt like this place suited us just fine. I do know of a few other Canadian families who are living in the Village, so i'm not the only one!! Often I meet Canadian tourists in the summer down at our local watering hole! If you would like more details or would like to see photographs, please send me your email and i would be happy to send you some.
Cheers!!

canadians

Postby Avanapa » Sat Jun 16, 2007 12:18 pm

hi orokliniservices, i,m always curious about people who relocate from a beautiful country such as Canada to europe. I mean, e.g. its obvious why people would relocate from say Scotland, (as I intend to do) due to the poor climate and high cost of living. But Canada? I always imagined it had everything, hot climate, beautiful scenery, low cost of living and I am always puzzled why folk would want to leave there. Perhaps you could enlighten me as it is a place I,ve often considered going to at one time.
Cheers, Chris

Avanapa, Canada is a lovely place to be sure, but hot climate?
Many parts of the country experience -30 to -40 C in the winter.
