Webbo, Karma is no weirdo. She is a Sufi and believes in self depreciation. It is the way of contentment. As for the Tekkes, as Karma says where they exist legally they are "Holy" places where mystics will spend their time and seek the truth. Maybe like a "monastery" "retreat" perhaps. Tekke's were bannned after the Turkish Republic was created, but real ones can currently be found in Syria. Also Former areas of Yugoslavia, (Bosnia) if there is any left after their tragist wars. The ones in Turkey are only for tourists and culture. Their music though lives on. I am sure there are many more around the middle easr and the Balkans. They might be the Mevlevis (followers of Cellaleddin Rumi) or Nakshibendi (in Syria). There is also one in Lefka (Nakshibendi (under Sheikh Nazim)). The net is also full of info. About twenty years ago I attended one in north London. The venue was an old church!!
Regards.
