According to the guide entitled "Living and Working in Cyprus" published in English for Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance Department of Labour - the minimum wage for newly recruited employees is currently Cy£384 gross per month and increased to Cy£408 after a continuous service of 6 months.

This is for protection of vulnerable groups of employees and is for certain occupations such as shop assistants, clerks, child-care workers and personal care workers (nursing aids).

All employees should receive a written contract within one month of commencing employment.
