The "RoC" was not the solution

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The "RoC" was not the solution

Postby zan » Thu Jun 07, 2007 9:33 am

People here seem to have come under the delusion that because the "RoC" was allowed into the EU that that is the solution to the problem. This cannot be further than the truth. The truth is that the Annan Plan was the solution, all be it flawed, but that was the solution that was on the table and not the "RoC". We are still looking for a solution and the "RoC" wil have to go as part of that solution.

Take Annan plan and change everywhere in the text the word Turkish Cypriots with the word Kurds. Can Turkey approve such a plan? Why Greeks to accept it?

Lame excuse and completly off the mark. The question and my statement still stands. The "RoC" was not the solution and the solution is still in progress. Stop trying to sell the "RoC" as the solution.

You need to read some more history books before you can make comments (preferably not in Greek)
Show me where in the Constitution of Republic of Turkey the Kurds are a founding member of the republic..How can you compare Kurds with TC's?

There is not any necessity for me to read any book , I am a history myself. If you had the gourage to read more carefull my posts you should understand that i never fight the TCs but the way Turkey mainland understand the Cyprus problem.

As similarities between TCs and Kurds i agree there is not any relation exempt the fact that they (KURDS) are also a minority and they enjoy much less rights than these TCs had in the dificult years of 60's.

For avoiding any missundertanding i am not supporting terrorism from Kurs side i just use their case as an effort to give you to understand what Turkey and Annan plan requesting from GCs to accept.

And what else this proves other than what we know already: That Turkey is a Nazi state that oppresses its minorities and gives them no rights.

Are you saying that because the Kurds were not given the rights they should have when the Turkish state was created that they should never have them, while the TCs that were given more rights than any other minority in the world they should now be given even more rights on the expense of the human and legal rights of GCs?

If thats not arrogance and greediness then I don't know what is!

Piratis! you really disappoint me when you come up with so much emotional rubbish!

In which school they taught you Turkey is "a Nazi atate that oppresses its minorities". You clearly have little or no idea about what modern day Turkey is about! Do you know what Nazi's were about?

If you feel so strongly about the Kurdish people - import some more of them into South and see how you'll get along. How many Kurds have you met in real life and what do you know of their characteristic behaviour?

Have you any idea how much economic investment and development has been put into South Eastern Turkey (where most Kurds live) over the past decade?

Are you aware of the current feelings of Kurdish people in South Eastern Turkey regarding having their own Kurdish state - or regarding their (no) support for the PKK>

Are you aware that the main body of Kurds who are in Iraq trying to create their own autonomous Kurdish state, are always repeating they have no intentions of any land claims from Turkey and they strongly oppose PKK?

Are you aware that main body of Kurds in Iraq and Iran reject PKK terrorist activities and are actually fighting against them?

Are you aware that probably the only country in the world at this time who gives support to PKK terrorists is RoC? (Used to be Greece and Russia, but they soon gave up after a strong challenge from Turkey)

Why talk about a terrorist organisation when you have better examples in Thrace - Greece where the Turkish minority suffered the worst discrimination and treatment against them - including the destruction of their mosques and schools! When the Turks living there were forbidden until recently, to talk read and learn Turkish or have any political rights for many decades. Not to mention the physical brutality they had to put up with when many were forced to leave their homes in an effort to depopulate the area of Turks.

Talking about Nazi regimes - you better look closer to home piratis!

About your last paragraph you should know that Muslims in Thrake (not only Turks in origin) are using long time now books imported from Turkey's ministry of education???How it happen this minority to continuesly increase in numbers at the time Greeks in Istanbul disappeared?Your propaganta can not work here.

As far as Kurds concern, lets ask a Kurd in Turkey to go to TAKSIM square in Istanbul and shoud "I am Kurd" How many years this will cost him in jail? This kind of democracy you can find also in Zimbaboe
