MILTIADES IN CYPRUS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

bigOz wrote:Welcome back Miltiades! I tried not to participate in this threads because you are clearly perfectly well tooled up to deal with what is right and what is wrong. Hence I stuck to reading the posts only.

But I must express my pleasure in seeing this quote in your posts:
Conversation turned to the past and all 3 concurred that prior to the fanatics of EOKA B they had interacted with their neighbours and had no problems what so ever. None expressed any malice against their old neighbours on the contrary all were criticizing the G/C fanatics for all the mess that ensued.

If only all GCs had the same view, there would no longer be a Cyprus problem! It is not really asking for much is it - but at every attempt things start shooting in different directions and some change the whole conversation into "Yes but... No but...", resulting in false accusations of fanaticism aimed at those who are truly looking for ways of achieving a united Cyprus.

It may still be possible one day, when people start to call themselves "Cypriots" and be proud of it in real sense - until then VERY HARD WORK MY FRIEND!

BigOz , most Cypriots G/C and T/Cs are of the opinion that fanatics were the culprits and not the ordinary hard working family orientated Cypriots. Both communities to a lesser or a greater extend had their own band of fanatics and we see evidence of this even on this forum.
We need to bury the past , look to the future and forgive and forget just as Birkibrisly has done , Kikapu , Myself and many many more.

“Everything” short of liberation and that’s all that matters dear Alexis.

Your liberation from your military junta meant our enslavement by the Anatolian mullahs and you want to brag about your damage control aid?

As far as I’m concerned we have NOTHING to talk about… not with you or with any of the other Greeks on this forum. Go watch over your Aegean rocks while they last and leave us in peace.

Yeah, the Junta... again.
Tell me, have you ever heard of the "Σεπτεμβριανά", also known as the Istanbul pogrom? Do you know that, according to Turkey, the reason for those events was the "massacres" Greek Cypriots commited against Turkish Cypriots? Should Greeks blame the Cypriots for the uprooting of a thousands years old 100,000 Greek community? You and your kind are the ones that legalize Turkey's invasion, shame on you...

And here is a quote from the wikipedia article on the pogrom:

"In the weeks running up to September 6, Turkish leaders made a number of anti-Greek speeches. On August 28 Prime Minister Menderes claimed that Greek Cypriots were planning a massacre of Turkish Cypriots."

"Municipal and government trucks were placed in strategic points all around the city to distribute the tools of destruction; shovels, pickaxes, crowbars, ramming rods and petrol; while 4,000 private taxis were requisitioned to transport the perpetrators.[2]

A protest rally on the night of September 6, organized by the authorities in Istanbul, on the Cyprus issue and the alleged arson attack in Thessaloniki at the house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born, was the cover for amassing the rioters."

As a Kalamaras and a soon to be father of a half Cypriot half Greek baby, I have to say F U C K Y O U you bastard hater, Greece and the Greeks gave everything for the well being of Cyprus after the 74 invasion, and you fascist dick were too far away to even notice.

And as a father of a half G/C and half English , son and daughter , also a grandfather of 3/4 Greek Cypriot and 1/4 English girl , I firstly wish that your new born to be child will be healthy and that the baby will bring , as I'm sure it will , happiness and joy into your life.
Let us not agree on the political front , but let us do it in a civilized fashion , and let us also instill civility and compassion into our off springs . I will not stand to attention when the Greek national anthem is played when it involves Cyprus , but supported the Greek national team when winning the European Cup , and along with a number of T/Cs in whose restaurant I was at the time , stood to attention when the anthem at the ceremony was playing.
Learn to respect and not offend by being vulgar . I swear too , in an abstract fashion never directly insulting an individual , especially one old enough to be your father . An apology for your outburst should be forthcoming. My daughter posts on this forum and she would find your comments rather offensive don't you think ?

You have insulted an entire nation many times. You may not consider it "your" nation (and I couldn't care less) but it is MY nation and you HAVE used vulgar language again and again and again. So, it's you who owes an apology. If you do not feel the need to, I could provide a collage of some of your posts concerning the Greek people. Your age is a factor that should contribute to your need to apologize, by the way

He owes you nothing. Take your Nikiphoros, Diogenis, Kolokotronis, Boumboulina, and every other Greek member from here and go join a Greek forum where you belong and leave us in peace.

We have NOTHING to say to you that can bring a smile to your face.

I do not know why you think you are a know it all:
miltiades wrote:Some 4 or so miles away the G/C village of Falusi is allready the home of 3 British residents , I stopped for coffee at the kafenes and talked to 3 G/Cs , having first asked for enan tourkiko , a Turkish coffee , the Kafetzis merely enquired as how I liked my coffee. They asked where I was from and I explained that I visited Istinjo as a mark of respect for a great Cypriot. Conversation turned to the past and all 3 concurred that prior to the fanatics of EOKA B they had interacted with their neighbours and had no problems what so ever. They also all agreed that this cluster t/c villages had been neglected by the government and that the inhabitants had a very hard time . None expressed any malice against their old neighbours on the contrary all were critisizing the G/C fanatics for all the mess that ensued.

This is where you get your so called "knowledge" from that you arrogantly post to this forum? Discussions in kafes?

No wonder why such a pathetic creature is convinced he is a Cypriot Cypriot. Great way to learn about history...

What exactly is your issue with Greece? Its one thing to believe you are cypriot and nothing else and another to insult an entire country.

As far as i'm concerned i am a Greek Cypriot. My country and nationality is Cyprus where i hope to share it with TC's again some day but my ethnicity is Hellenic. I speak Greek, write Greek and think Greek if you don't feel the same keep it to yourself rather than insult this nation.

I hope there is isn't an equivalent to article 301 in Greece. I have insulted and criticized what ought to be insulted and criticized. You smoke like bloody chimneys , your unsophisticated TV stars still consider that smoking on screen is cool
encouraging the young and impressionable to mimic them , you spit in the streets , in restaurants , in tavernas , you con each other , I couldn't trust you for as long as I could throw you , I have lived amongst you and have gotten to know you. You show total disrespect to those that have opposing views by telling them to go and fuck them selves and have the audacity to demand an apology you rascal ?? Let me tell you Greek. Way back in the 50s I joined ANE and participated in pro ENOSIS demonstrations BECAUSE I KNEW NO BETTER. Now that I know , I say to you , that you the Greeks and Athenians instead of spending your time demonstrating for insignificant issues should unite and demand UNION WITH CYPRUS .Get that Communist leader of the party to instruct you on this issue , since she is always there to open her big mouth and talk rubbish. Wake up , the glory of Greece ain't no more baddie , its now the beginning of the glory of CYPRUS.
