Time for Papou Bira to take Mamou Bira and go on a world tour,I believe...
I will upgrade the bed in the spare room to a double, dear miltiades...And we will truly spoil Mamou Bira while you are here...no washing up for her...I will cook and you can wash up...how does that sound????

Any room for VP ? !!! I think he needs a break , he is showing his age recently , he can do the washing up while we relax with a few beers , and he can keep his beady eyes on us in case the f word is used !!
Vp , Im certain that , with one exemption , you brought your kids up properly , only wish you didnt feel their little brains up with hatred for their Cypriot brothers. They are the future of Cyprus and I would rather a kid use the f word rather than words of hate for their Cypriot compatriots. Join us down under and I was only kidding about you doing the washing up , Bir will do that !

Then all is well and your granddaughter can say the word fucker to boot, must give you great joy. What other swear word does she know? Do you all laugh and encourage her to use them, how times have changed I would tell my children off when they swore.

Actually NO she does not swear, and we not encourage her to either Just to clear that up for you. You must by now that Miltiades talks alot of SHIT.

Just want to make it crispy clear that my daughter does not swear. We do not swear at home, nor do we encourage this at home.

Bambam, I know your father personally. He has a heart of gold and a typical Cypriot humour. This is not a big deal, slight hick-up. I cant wait to be a grandfather and to be honest god knows what I'll be up to with my grandchildren.

He has problems with VP and they rarely see eye to eye. Its best we forget the whole thing.

God bless you and your daughter.

BTW, apart from the shit he sometimes makes a lot of sense

Thank you for telling the truth...Bir even tires to make excuses that using foul language indicates a more intelligent child, really you live in your own world far from reality.

It goes to prove the adage, bambam, that no man is a hero to his own family...light,joy and hapiness to you and your little one...we'll love her even if she swore... :D

My favourite used to be aggrelli (aasparagus) chopped gafgarouk (artichoke) and eggs. Oh how I miss my grandmother. Allah rest her soul. If I wanted that dish I had to go to the country and pick up all the asparagus I needed. What a taste!

deniz, my friends used to take me to Anglisides to collect kappari (capers), but had to be careful of the snakes.

You are right Kafenes. My other friends use to pick Kappari on the Strahala above the Vatyalaksha vineyards. I never got the taste for it. For me it was the odd fungi (wild mushrooms) plenty asparagus and eggs. Sometimes in winter would catch a few dozen sparrows in our barn/grain store. I used to enjoy them with Mavropoullos. I dont think I can do that now. I love birds - but the RSPB (I am a member) Royal Society of Protection of Birds - would shoot me. I still miss Ambelopoulla though. The best place would be the Pendashino river at Ay. Theodorod. I heard they still catch the poor things.

Yes, unfortunately they still catch them. Since people are willing to pay 24 or more pounds per dozen then they will keep on poaching.
