The" heroic "Greek Military leaders , Ioannides , Patakos , Papadopoulos , were earnestly busy trying to save their skin. When American and British diplomats in Athens were trying to contact the "Government " there was no one around .These good for nothing pieces of shit could not be found anywhere. So you have it "ELLAS ELLINON XRISTIANON " ready to defend the faith and Greece , but Cyprus !!! That's another story. Epien tous o kolos tous !!
And the likes of Nikeforos and Exasteros , or is it Apentaros , not forgetting foul mouth Alexis SS who has the audacity to tell a 61 year old to go and fuck himself , believe they are the righteous ones !!!

Let me tell once more where I stand . My country of birth is Cyprus that also happens to be the birth country of over 100 thousand T/Cs who consider Cyprus to also be their country , the country that they buried their fathers and their fathers before them. They have been driven in the arms of Turkey by the same demagogues that are today repeating the same venomous attacks on Cypriots. The Turkish army will remain in Cyprus until the T/Cs tell it to go away , and they wont do that until a fair solution has been found . Let me add here that I opposed the AP for reasons I posted many times.

So the 11 years from 1963 to 1974 had nothing to do with it? we were all living in harmony that may have been the case for GCs but I can assure TCs were living in hell and no one was crying but we are all Cypriots and equal.

I visited deserted T/C vilages , I visited the Limasol mosque which presented it self in a very good condition , I visited the Mosque just past Ypsonas again in good condition , I searched for converted into barns or casino mosques but none were available to see. In reality I was not looking for reasons in order to expand or excuse my hatred for the T/Cs since , unlike you I dont have any hatred for my brothers and sisters , I searched for people that lived in peace all those years ago and found many.

Unlike you I search for reasons to give me hope for the future for our people , you search for reasons to sustain your intense hatred of people that you do not know , only you think you do. Look at my relationship with so many T/Cs on this forum alone. With some I differ in views but with all I have something in common , respect that it is reciprocated. Bir , Kikapu , mrfromng , BigOz all have their own personalities and views , Turkish Cypriot too , Piratis , Alexis (not to be confused with the foul mouth one , all have varying degrees of differences but I'm confident in stating that I'm respected for my views and not hated by any of them. I hope you too will see the folly of continuing with the past and move on to the future. It is the future of our children and grandchildren that is at stake , the new generation that we both want to live side by side in peace. Ask Bir , mrfromng , Kikapu , all three would have no hesitation being my neighbour , and I would not have any hesitation to have them as mine.
I have met many hot heads from both sides over the years. Never have I failed to communicate with anyone because of my determination and honest from the heart opinions and dreams about Cyprus.

Did you visit any of those villages I gave you details of?

Everyone has their own opinions and ways of expressing it, I respect yours thats why you have to also respect mine.

Its because I do not want to throw my children into the fire that I ask for safeguards and guarantees to ensure they are not buried alive just becuase fanatical Gcs want to rule supreme, you will definately say my comments are far fetched but how will you guarantee these things will not happen? and how will you feel if they do?

So how does one guarantee anything against anything. One has laws and applies them, when those laws are broken, so for the last time, what kinds of guarantees do think that the TC's need, so that you do not have any concerns. I would like to hear, what those are. If you do not have any ideas, then how do you expect others to give them to you.

“Everything” short of liberation and that’s all that matters dear Alexis.

Your liberation from your military junta meant our enslavement by the Anatolian mullahs and you want to brag about your damage control aid?

As far as I’m concerned we have NOTHING to talk about… not with you or with any of the other Greeks on this forum. Go watch over your Aegean rocks while they last and leave us in peace.

Yeah, the Junta... again.
Tell me, have you ever heard of the "Σεπτεμβριανά", also known as the Istanbul pogrom? Do you know that, according to Turkey, the reason for those events was the "massacres" Greek Cypriots commited against Turkish Cypriots? Should Greeks blame the Cypriots for the uprooting of a thousands years old 100,000 Greek community? You and your kind are the ones that legalize Turkey's invasion, shame on you...

Hi Alexis, I was wandering, wasn't the pogrom in 1955? As far as I know the first inter-communal violence in Cyprus happened in 1958 (When a bomb was placed by the TMT to incite violence), and this confuses me because why were people demonstrating against violence in 1955? Or was it that they thought there would be attacks?

Thanks.

The pogrom took place in September 1955, 8 months after the foundation of EOKA by Grivas which Turkey saw as a threat to her interests. Let me clear this out, I by no means imply that the Cypriots were in any way responsible for the pogrom, only that Turkey used the Cyprus problem as an excuse, the same way she used the Junta-EOKA B sponsored coup to "justify" the 74 invasion. The big difference is that no Greek ever accused the Cypriot people, contrary to what some Cypriots do

Thanks for clearing that up Alexis. I, and many Greek Cypriots that I know, do not blame the Greek people for the coup and the invasion. We blame the very unpopular groups of EOKA B and the Junta (and in many cases the CIA, who I believe was the ruling force behind the Junta). Just as it should be, it is un fair to blame your average Greek for what the Junta did, even more so because it had hardly any support in Greece at the time..

I think it’s hard for your average Cypriot, the fact that Cyprus is still under occupation keeps that bitterness people felt towards the Junta (Greek ‘government’ at the time..), EOKA B and Turkey alive today, however diluted..

AlexISS gave a good response to this. Turkey only used for a justification the coup. Turkey did not invade because of the coup. Without the coup it would have been easier to invade when Makarios the brave wanted to reduce the National Guard peacetime personel to only 5,000 men. I have posted this kind of info time and time again but most those here care only to spread gossip.

You senile old self designated coffeeshop talker only Ioannides was in power at the time of the Turkish invasion and he deposed Patakos and Papadopoulos. Maybe if you actually knew how to do anything worthwile you would know you cannot learn history talking to fellow fools, because this is the kind wrong info they will spread.

Stupidest wishful thinking in the world. The Turkish Cypriots are nothing. Even to negotiate with them is a waste of time and Greek Cypriots are fools to even bother. Turkey dominates and controls the TRNC not any Turkish Cypriots.

Good to see you back and your usual lovely self,Natty mou...
When all is said and done,we are left with the terrible fact that Turks and Greeks have done terrible things to each other in their recent history, and most of that fueled by stupid, unthinking nationalism...We in Cyprus got a fair share of this inhumanity of man on man (and woman on woman  ),and became victims in the great animosity game played out ruthlessly over many decades, even centuries...

What we learn from history,as they say,is that we do not learn from history, hence we keep repeating our past mistakes today in our beloved Cyprus...The biggest mistake we are making is turning a blind eye to our sides guilt and trying to put all the blame on the other side..It is beyond belief that some people in here are still talking about us as Turks and Greeks, knowing well that was the single biggest reason we are in the hole we find ourselves today... I refuse to believe that these people are clueless individuals who truly believe what they are talking about...I think they know exactly what they are doing, and it serves their purposes well to be acting like this...There is only one way to make sure any solution in Cyprus will be just and lasting...That way is to embrace our Cypriotness and create a unified, democratic, multiethnic republic based on human rights, equal opportunity, antidiscrimination, and rule-of-the-law principles...
A partitioned Cyprus will perpetuate the animosity and make sure hot conflict will errupt sometime in the future...What ever the result of that hot conflict is..it will only give way to another period of sustained pain, suffering and bitterness...and end up in another hot conflict when the situation changes again...And on and on it will go....for God's sake,we are now putting the 5th generation of Cypriots through the same hell we put the previous 4,and we are still talking about the horrible past as if it is here and ready to bite us again where it hurts the most...Understanding,honest,empathy,forgiveness and compassion are what we need to put the past behind us and reunite our homeland, and give the future generations some hope for a truly free and peaceful country...Anything else is only prolonging the suffering...We seem to have a lot of massachists in this forum...And a lot of sadists as well...While we engage in our favourite pastime of blaming everybody else for everything,Cyprus is bleeding to death from her wounds sustained over the past 50 odd years...

Don't know why I bother with the likes of you .You are no doubt a young man and full of hot air. You ought to wake up and smell the coffee chum , it is precisely attitudes such as yours and foul mouth Alex the Nazi SSS that have brought destruction on our island. You mental IQ capacity appears to be somewhere between zero and 10 .Greece was dominated by these wankers for almost 7 years during which time every one was shit scared of them and all went along with their stupid ideology , "I EPANASTASIS IPIRXE ISTORIKI ANAGGI" I spend more than 3 months in Thesaloniki in 1969 and saw how the Greeks lost their balls , dont blame them after all they new what these bastards were capable off. They , the Junta , not the people , but the Junta were wholly responsible for the destruction of our island , the people who even today share their twisted ideology , as I'm sure you and the SS man do , are responsible for the stalemate that's going on.
