Hi Great link, I will be comming over to Pahos in July and have bought a property of plan, that shall we say is having a few teething problems and have found it almost impossible to get a straight answer out of the developers, which is very frustrating as most of my concerns could be sorted out with a simple reply to an email, the poor communication just exacerbates the situation. I have passed your link onto a neighbour at this development who is having similar if not worse problems. Lets hope something can be done to improve the apparant poor reputation Cypriot Developers seem to have and in my expierence dont seem to care about.

Hi Colmax,

Thank you. I know it's of little comfort, but you are not alone.

It can be very frustrating trying to communicate with people who don't wish to communicate via email, telephone or even snail-mail. It's surprising how much more you can achieve in a face-to-face meeting.

Just been onto the above site. This developer needs locking away for life for this. I wish Conor all the luck in the world.

One good thing is when you put into Google the developers name the http://www.lyingbuilder.com/ comes up first!!

Nigel,

Good luck with your new pressure group.

I just found a website where grievances are also being aired here in Cyprus:

Thanks everyone,

As you may guess, we've been pretty busy over the past few days!!

Denis O'Hare and myself will be on CyBC Radio 2 next Thursday evening (14th June) at 19:00 on Rosie Charalambous program 'Round and About'.

Rosie is trying to get a 'mandarin' from the Ministry of Interior to join us.

Tune in & listen on 91.1FM

Hi Peter,

Yes, we're seeing AL on Wednesday afternoon - hopefully we'll be able to help each other in what we're trying to achieve.

I was speaking with one of my 'partners in crime', Denis O'Hare, earlier today. We've now received more than 300 messages of support and details of problems!

By chance, I was talking with an 84 year-old lady who bought an off-plan property here with her husband in 1979. They finished paying for it in 1982 and moved into it permanently in 1985. She was contacted by the developer a few weeks ago saying that her Title Deeds were now ready for collection - but his accountant was working out how much she'll have to pay them before they'll allow the transfer of title to take place!
