Hi -- and welcome

If you are driving across try the route UK to Salero Italy and catch the Grimaldi freighter cruise across to limassol

well worth the trip -- very pleasant and scenic

Live near Braintree, this is a small world, will be moving to Cyprus too in a few months, looking at different ways of travelling/transporting our belongings etc. There's a really helpful guy on here called Andreas but I can't PM until I've made enough posts so here's another one.........
just an afterthought, Braintree really makes you want to move!

A friend of mine in my car owners club (Pajero) has just recommended Grimaldi as he arranges freight through them and I believe they are competitively priced, still tryna build up my posts to be able to PM

Hello and thanks all of you for taking the time to say Hi,
Yes, amazed, we are really looking forward to the drive and sights and scenery will pass through.
Zan, a professor and an Essex boy, I'm impressed.
Bill, thanks for the advice, i think that route via Italy sounds ideal, we will make the most of our time exploring the wonderful Italian countryside.
Helen & David, if your from the Braintree area, or Braindead as I like to refer to it, then you know how the area has gone downhill lately, we cant wait to leave. Wherabouts in Cyprus are you heading and why?

Hi Lee
I know the Great Leighs developement, it looks very nice, (not creeeping), cant believe how many local people it appears are moving out of the area and how many of them are going to Cyprus!
Once settled, will be seriously looking to carve out a living, not sure what yet, but am willing to try anything, I'm an Electrician by trade and of cours being from from Essex, must be a wide boy. Thats a joke, I'm genuine and honest, straight as a die, hopefully these will be good attributes for starters, expecting to get duff info and ripped of a little but will put it down to expierience. What do hope to achieve by moving over?
Sorry forgot to say hi to andri-cy, hi andri glad to make your aquaintance, all the best to you and yours.

The wife and I will be travelling to Cyprus in July, taking a leisurely drive, route yet to be decided, has anyone done this? All advice gratefully received.
We will be looking for a Pad to stay and will be baseing up in Paphos initially for 3 to 6 months, in the hope of eeking out a living, "somehow", As we want to commit long term, maybe start a business, a Bar perhaps?
But were not under any delusions, will give it our best shot, hopefully meeting lots of new & interesting people on the way.

Believe me you will have a great time in Cyprus and most important you will not face the atmosphere created in this forum. Actual life in Cyprus is full of fun. this forum represent 1 per cent of population who cares about the political problem-Enjoy your stay

we're moving to Paphos, we explored the island and after a trial run for a month last year, we've decided it's the best place for us. We have a couple of friends and some work opportunities in the area, it looks as if these posts indicate a great essex migration
