How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

No DT, it is not "all of a sudden" because you've just noticed it! :D

There had always been many fronts Turkey had to fight against since tyhe days of Gallipoli, and its subsequent occupation after the first world war. For the past 4-5 decades, more so in the political arena because:

They are simply "Turks", dreaded by Christian Europe for more than thousand years as the fierce fighting race, coming in from the East to destroy other Empires and their hold on Asia and Eastern Europe.

They presented a big obstacle for the Crusaders. They destroyed Eastern Roman Empire and stopped Romans from expanding into Asia, captured Constantinople from the Byzantines and injected a Muslim culture into Eastern Europe. The latter never forgotten or forgiven by the occupants, many centuries later!

Whether it is the Republicans (proud of being "White Christians") in USA, Christian democrats in Europe, or the Greek Orthodox in Russia, Serbia or Greece, they have a built in hatred for anything "Muslim" and openly preach so.

Take into account the ongoing influence of the Church in today's politics in all of the countries mentioned above (who are not scared to express their hatred for Muslim Turks), tell me what are the real chances of Turkey becoming an EU member? I'll go further than that and say, tell me what the chances are of any of them not re-writing a flawed history depicting the Turk as a monster? This has been going on for many centuries, and now people expect that by some miracle, Turkey will be applauded in its secular democratic state and growing strength in economy. Many would rather see the whole nation burn at the stake - thanks to Church's teachings and the religious bigots who are just as dangerous as Al Kaida!

If that does not sum up why Turkey will always fight on many fronts - nothing will... :D
(I bet that put a smile on some GCs face )
