*Settlers*

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Individual paying fines for enterin cyprus territory illegally ?? I think you went a bit faar off there so Stop Right There!...This just sounds both illogical and unfair...
Its not the fault of these people if they have moved into the TRNC but fault of their government policies. What turkey doing now is forming "artificial population" in the north and thats what makes the government guilty... These people dont know much about whats going on anyway.... Agreed?

Without evidence I wouldnt consider this as a "fact" but only a "theory"...and which newspapers wrote it is also important... I would only expect "nationalist" ones say somthing like that just coz they are unconfortable of the "truth"(number of settlers) that is making some of the TCs unconfortable.Show evidence please...

Hello again gizzy,

I agree with you people are not guilty of anything, most settlers came here just to get free land. I am wondering whether there are still settlers coming here getting free land. Can anyone supply this information?

Imo the matter of settlers is a crime performed by Governments.Turkey is responsible for the settlers in the northern part and Turkey should provide the remedy and costs involved for those people.

On the other hand the RoC imported a lot of Pontians, thank God nobody got citizenship so far, but imo all these people should go back after Cyprus is United and Greece should undertake all expenses for them going back to Greece or to Russia were they came from. Most of them came from near the black sea you know, and they speak Turkish along with Greek and Russian!

I dont think settlers are given FREE LAND  anymore... coz there is nothing left to give out anyways... lol.... GC lands wre given away in the past as it was not as "EXPENSIVE" as it is know and it was plenty... Especiall since past couple of years, both GC and TC land became precious. Nobody would give it away ^^

So let me get this right what you are saying is settlers who have married a TC or been adopted by TCs can stay the rest have to go...you are not being very clear.

The settlers who have lived here for 33 years also has to leave even though he has children born here? according to you those children also have to go??

Please try to be clearer in your responses.

I think I was perfectly clear on my answer but I will repeat. Settlers who havnt mixed, should have to go coz they are officially only TRNC cizitens and their 33 years on this island doesnt mean anthing as it is "illegal". Just coz they have been citizens longer doesnt give older citizens more rights. I think it should be clear now... They can ofcourse choose to work in the island and also stay by getting legal permissions such as "permission to work" and "live" etc,... I am aware the settlers who became citizens longer back also became like us the TCs in terms of their culture. However am sorry as this is not "pazarlık", its "law" and we cant change it just coz we dont like it.

Oh I think those who really feel like a TC could find their way out to become part of us... I know some of these settlers assimilated into our culture and they might want to stick with us and I would understand that. A solution would be making a deal with a TC and Him/her marry and divorce and voila!! thats not loveful but lawful ^^ but shhh lol
