At long last!

After waiting 3 years for the darned things to be imported and 7 months from the time of ordering, I've now taken delivery of a hybrid car (Honda Civic Hybrid). This should reduce my carbon footprint by well over 1 tonne/year. Have done ~120 km with a consumption of 5.4 l/100 km, which ain't bad for a start, with tight bearings and learning how to get the best out of it. It seems very sensitive to gradient: to Nicosia on the highway 4.9 l/100 km. from Nicosia, same road, same speed on cruise control 5.8 l/100 km, with ~200 m altitude difference. To the next village, 2.7 l/100 km: from the same village 7.6 l/100 km, possibly ~60 m difference in 2.5 km. Nevertheless, impressive figures for a mid-sized car.

And I'll get £700 back from the Government, very low tax and low insurance for a 1350 cc car!

I'm sure you're enjoying it Devil and if you come to Nicosia often don't forget to flash your lights at Perdikes when you see him in the streets driving around his battery operated matchbox... in line with GC tradition!

They're nice looking cars. After a bit of motoring in it, can you give us all a review of how you find it?

Get Real, time for you to go green now. If you still have not fixed your suspenders (suspensions - for other forum members) on your Honda Jazz-was it? Now go green and keep the Cyprus atmosphere "fresh".
