Want To Buy: Dog Cage(kennel)

Postby tony.a » Fri Jun 01, 2007 10:57 pm

Hello

Am moving into cyprus in July and am bringing my dog with me. The problem is I will be renting a house for atleast the first year and none of the houses i found in the areas that i like allow pets. However a lot of them have agreed to let me keep my dog outside so am affraid i have no choice than to keep him outdoors. In the begining i thought i'll just buy a dog house and a chain or cable which would have given the dog a lot more space but apparantly there are more problems with chained dogs e.g. aggression and the risk of getting hanged. The owner told me that it is very common in cyprus to keep dogs outside and said that i won't have any problems finding a cage(kennel) for him.

To the main point. I need a cage (kennel) for my dog. The bigger the better. I won't need it however until the end of June beggining of July though. If any of you know where i can get one or if you have one for sale
I would be very greatfull if you let me know.

Thanks in advance

Anyone?
Please I really need it soon.

It doesn't have to be an allready made kennel, if you know anyone that can build me one or if you can build me one please tell me.

Just in case any of you misunderstood me I do actually mean pay money for it, am not asking if i can just have one for free lol I am willing to pay

Tony,

Stuff the dog cage! You want to leave your pet outside in the high 40's come July & August???

I suggest you look further for a rental property that will allow you to keep pets. We rent an unfurnished house in Limassol from a private landlord (found him in the Cyprus Weekly 3 yrs ago) and we have 2 dogs and 2 cats with no problems at all.

You could try some of the other forums on Cyprus, if you haven't already been there - maybe where there are more ex-pats perhaps?

BFCTradingPost (has a forum, whose membership are mainly ex-pats or wanna be ex-pats) and CyprusLiving.org (Paphos based), also CyprusEastern forum

Don't give up hope just yet or sentence your dog to being stuck in a cage, where he may be open to someone chucking unwanted stuff in at him or being bitten by ticks....

Regards

Hello

I understand what you are saying and i do think it's a very good suggestion but because of some curcuimstances i need my house to be at a certain area ( village to be precise), under a certain price and i actually need to start moving stuff into it in about 2 or 3 weeks so i don't have any more options or any time to wait for new properties to go on the market. I do realize ther are many heat issues so I've allready purchased a kennel air-conditioning (cooling) system that will apparantly keep the kennel cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It cost me quiet a lot actually but it's worth it consedering it will determine my dog's health.
