Oh please, I have already been very badly bitten by the mosquitoes.
The bites are unusually red though, is that some reason to panic?

Hi! I don't think that there could be anything new about mosquito bites. I am not worried that I could get a serious desease (is the spelling correct?), but that I can't sleep because of them. They love me, I hate them! Bad luck in love....

Salexs this is so true...you can get diseases from mosquitoes because they touch the blood of others and then yours :( I know you dont love them but you have to keep them away from you with some way before this passionate love kill both of you. :(

There was an article on the internet version of Cyprus Mail yesterday (not sure if it's still there) giving advice on dealing with the Mossies. I'm almost certain the article said that several people in Nicosia had been hospitalised after sustaining lots of bites! Hopefully now the warmer weather is here, and the water pools dry out there won't be so many places for them to breed.
ps : well done Oroklini council for having the teams out and about in the village with insecticide sprays!

Mossies

Postby Southerner » Tue Jun 05, 2007 1:10 am

Has there been a climate change in Cyprus? the reason that I ask is that when my Wife and I were stationed here in 1966/7 there wasn't a mosquito problem but now evrytime we come over on holiday she gets bitten and last year she had to attend the local hospital in Paphos.

I've only once had a really bad problem with mossies .

I went out one evening and left the bedroom light on and the window wide open -- when I came back in the small hours of the morning the ceiling was almost black with mossies -- took me over half a can of killer spray and a wait of about one hour sitting out side on the front step before I managed to get them all
