Ankara warns U.S. against repeating violations of Turkish airspace

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Turkey on Tuesday warned the United States against repeating violations of Turkish airspace at the border with Iraq, threatening unspecified action. The note of protest was handed to a member of the U.S. diplomatic mission, who was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry. MFA representative Levent Bilman said all essential measures have been taken, APA reports.

The warning followed violations by two U.S. F-16 warplanes on May 24, which some Turkish media described as a deliberate attempt at intimidation as Ankara discusses whether it undertake a military strike at PKK bases in northern Iraq.

After a 4-minute flight the planes turned round. The Turkish air defense troops did not commence fire, since F-16 belong to the NATO ally.

Diplomatic note for the violation to the USA: "let it not happen again"

Turkey delivered a note to the USA regarding the airfield violation of two F-16s and demanded the necessary measures be taken. It was of note that the message was delivered to a diplomat of lower rank than ambassador Wilson.

The ministry of foreign affairs warned the USA with a diplomatic note for the violation of the Turkish air field on May 24 by two US F-16's. The note was communicated by calling the US undersecretary of the ministry of foreign affairs and it was pointed out that such events should not happen again.

The critical warning statement of the note was: "the necessary measures should be taken in order for such events not to happen again. The US authorites have said: "we are taking measures in order for such events not to happen again."

I reckon any action by the Turkey would result in a temporary shortage of spares for their own F16s and a few more incursions just to show them who is boss.

Bloody typical of the turkish government, whats theirs is theirs and whats everyone elses is still theirs.

Its Ok when the violate Greece's airspace constantly, its Ok to violate the RoC airspace and seaways, but as soon as their own is violated they suddenly become the victims. Poor sods.

A taste of ones own medicine may help them realise the actions of their own consequences.

Given the amount of cash, aid and weapons the US give the miserable bast@rds you would think that a few minutes in (probably not theirs anyway) so called turkish airspace would go un challenged.

This is the people they want to put into the EU, ungrateful, untrusting and i certainly wouldn't turn my back on so called allies. Watch out the world.

This is probably the one time i support the US to say a big FU@K YOU to Turkey. Stop giving them cash and see how long they can survive.

Point made ?? :D :D :D

Humanist,

thank you for your words, but not sure i understand all this hocus pocus stuff. However, if you are saying that i have annoyed others then I couldn't give a rats bottom, because you only get annoyed at something like that when you know you are in the wrong.

If i have miss understood you enlightening words then please put it in laymans terms so i may better understand what the hell your post was about.

Thanks again, always like to please.
