TURKISH CYPRIOT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS LAUNCHING A CAMPAIGN FOR FOREIGNERS !!!!!!!!!
The Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce is launching a new campaign with the aim of informing foreigners on shopping opportunities in the North and how much stuff they can take with them while crossing into the South, under the framework of the Green Line Regulation.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, the campaign is also aimed at encouraging trade between the North and the South and promoting tourism, thus contributing to the development of the Turkish Cypriot economy.
The campaign launched this morning with the opening of information boards placed at the Ledra Palace and Metehan Checkpoints, aimed at informing the tourists on their shopping and trade opportunities while crossing the checkpoints.
It is indicated on the information boards that foreigners crossing into the South can take goods with them worth of 135 Euros maximum, for pivate use only.
Boards opened with a press conference at Ledra Palace which attended by the Minister of Economy and Tourism Enver Ozturk.
More boards will also placed at other checkpoints; Akyar, Bostanci and Pergama.
As part of the campaign, posters will also be placed at shops informing foreigners about purchasing and tax-free system, as well as about the places they can visit in the North.
