You'll be given an agents name by whoever you ship with however I do believe you can decide who to you yourself.
There are one or two who come highly recommended to sort out this for you.
My shipping cost includes 'all' agents fees but excludes registration.

I'm totally confused now, I've had so much conflicting information. I paid VAT when I imported my Pajero to the UK in December 2005 so assume I don't have to pay this again in Cyprus? Is this correct?

I understand registration and tax are based on the cc and I'm not sure how to calculate this. Can anyone help because I really don't want to sell my vehicle in the UK because I'm disabled and it suits my needs to a tee.

Definately the film faced plywood in meranti................. eh?

I decided not to bring my car - firstly because of the whole duty payable when you sell it scenario. Secondly, cars are expensive here but like someone else has said - add the shipping cost, the clearing agent fees & all the port fees & it's about the same. My quote 6 months ago was about GB£700+insurance+VAT, port to port. I know clearing agents generally charge about CY£60 & port fees can be around CY£300/£350.

Only thing I would say is that Cypriot mechanics have a bad rep so what you buy may not be as well looked after as you hope. So they say.

If anyone has a high end sports car - take it to MotoTrend in Nicosia - highly trained English sports car technician, only one on the island as far as I know.

...that is unless you're importing a classic car.

Hi , £4, you are lucky, up until last year it was £8. Anyhow, depending on the age of your car you also get a %age discount.

My car was a 2 ltr at £2/cc, it was 7 yrs old and i had an 85% discount. The duty is derated over 10 years.

Try recalculate, you maybe surprised.
