MEMORIAL CEMETERY IS TO BE BUILT IN ISKELE(TRİKOMO) FOR THE 11 MISSING TURKISH CYPRIOTS STORY TO THE ‘VANISHED BUS’ DOCUMENTARY RECENTLY SCREENED.
A memorial cemetery is to be built in Iskele for the 11 missing Turkish Cypriots story to the ‘Vanished Bus’ documentary recently screened.
The relatives of the 11 missing persons who established a committee for this purpose, have also launched work to establish the “Vanished Bus” Society.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Celal Dimililer announced that the relatives of the 11 Turkish Cypriots who went missing on their way to work on the 13th of May 1964 after their bus departed from Larnaka, took a joint decision on building the memorial.
Mr. Dimililer said a mass burial ceremony will be held at the newly constructed memorial site when the Missing Persons Committee returns the remains of the missing persons.
He said that the aim was to complete work before the 13th of May next year when the 11 missing Turkish Cypriots will be remembered.
