Varosha - is it possible to visit?

Postby pimozid » Thu May 24, 2007 7:08 pm

A saw some recent pictures and movies on the internet and I wonder if it is possible to visit Varosha area while in Famagusta (or is it still a forbidden zone)? Any permit required? Thanks for info.

If you go, tuck you're camera or video into a beach bag or case with a hole in it and film that way.

Or you could, like me, end up in Famagusta Police Station explaining why you failed to take notice of the signs on the wire fencing.

It is classed as a military area and the Turkish Army have got a real phobia about cameras!

Interestingly enough, it is really supposed to be no man's land administered by the U.N.
