I understand different TC people want union for different reasons and I'd like to hear yours. If I'm putting you under the spot light here send a PM, if you don't want to answer at all that's fine too but if you do just be honest please as I know you can be.
I have nothing to gain or nothing to lose so I don't need a reason to want to unite. For the good of my country and people I suppose.
But right now I really don't want to unite..
I want there to be a solution asap, but not untill GC's accept TC's as Cypriot enough to share political power with. Without that I am against union 100000000% and trust GC's a mere 9.5%. I accept GC's have been there longer but Cyprus has never been offically Greek and the whole point of the RoC consitution was for equality between two communities that weren't getting on, therefore I don't see sharing political power as asking for too much from Greek Cypriots, specially in 2007!
I find it an insult that they refuse, they go as far as seeing it as "stealing my land" as Piratis has already said on this thread. It makes me even more mad that they then turn round try to tell me about being my compatriots and expect me to believe what they're saying.
If we're all Cypriots and GC's see TC's as true Cypriots then why the big fuss over who runs what? I'd understand if we were still living together and all of a sudden TC's asked to have their own state...but we've been divided for 40 YEARS. We're already living in 2 states and no matter how much propaganda try to convince yourself with TRNC does and will exist till.
After what we've been through, after the war, after a 40 year political war and considering that the war was between Greeks and Turks (:!:
) there is no way I will unite to live in what might as well be a fully Greek Cyprus. Being on this forum and reading Piratis' head******* posts alone has given me a huge chip on my shoulder and there is no way I want to unite with people like that without them knowing their place (and mine)!!!!
I don't think a lot of GC's see us as true Cypriots and thats probably why they're so reluctant to agree to any settlement that will share power with us. Till that changes there will be no solution, even Piratis knows it which is why his only bit of hope is in "balance of power". I find it even more untrustworthy that people would rather wait 100 years for the balance of power to change instead of sorting out the problem by compromising. Without that compromise there will be no trust. Without trust there is NOTHING!

The problem is that as usual you want to rip us off by demanding way more than what proportionally belongs to you. Why should I accept that your vote will have more weight than mine? Am I second category citizen or what?
